Is ELO Hell Real?

I think it is. Been going 10/3, 15/6, 6/0, etc. in many of my games yet I lose almost all of them. Hordes of feeders, trolls, and players who literally go 1 v 5 against a fed team. I was doing well, Silver I and the opponents were still laughably easy, however, I went on a losing streak (bad teams, I played well in most of those) and now I'm in silver IV, people DC'ing on my team, feeding (sometimes intentionally), etc. Im starting to realize that if you get unlucky and are placed with the wrong team members, elo hell can be real. After all, you can't win every game. Right?

Elo Hell is only in your mind. It can seriously be relative. Someone can go with those scores in PLatinum or Diamond and lose, but does that mean Diamond is Elo Hell? Of course NOT! You will get unlucky with feeders/trolls in lower levels, for sure. But if you truly belong at a higher rank you will get there. Do not be discouraged.

It might be possible on a small scale (e.g a division or two), or in a small sample of games, but nobody in bronze/silver who is legitimately trying to rank up plays like a plat/diamond, because then smurfing and elo boosting wouldn't exist, and both do.

It's possible you're winning lane often, but not playing the late game well or translating your kill advantage properly, such as by roaming.

It is definitely a real thing. Basically, it's the elo range wherein a player who obviously belongs to a higher skill bracket cannot compensate for the low skill, trolling, or AFKs that pervade the elo they are currently in. Even a Diamond player who goes 20-0-0 can't win every match where their team feeds and their enemy at least has half a brain. Elo hell is the point at which you can't get by as a lone wolf and have to rely on your team being able to perform to a basic level.
