Wattson, The Soul Tesla (Support/Mage)

Once again I embark on ensuring that every faction has a support, so without further ado, here is a support for the nation Zaun

As per the usual, im not good with balancing the numbers so just give me your thoughts on how to rework this champion in the comments below

Lore:- As an engineer who studied in the field of electric currents, he often wondered to himself, "If electricity powers a light bulb, what powers a human being?" And with that, he set off to work and research exactly what it is that makes living creatures move. He often would refer to the concepts of it being a soul, and for that, he was partially satisfied, however, he wanted to learn more about it, and perhaps, even harness it. Test subject after test subject lay dead and decaying as his lab was piling up with corpses, all of them with charred flesh and burnt bones. His attempts at removing the soul was improving with every test, and soon found that souls were indeed like electricity, in the fact that they were both a volatile form of electricity, but one that could still be controlled Crafting a device that would conduct souls like an electrical current, he set off to the streets of Zaun, eager to try out and see if his device could create a tool of creation, or perhaps better yet, a grand weapon of destruction

Appearance:-

http://i.ytimg.com/vi/xQB7K3fQjOI/maxresdefault.jpg A little inspiration of Dr.Horrible's Sing Along Blog, plus his soul-tesla gun is like that of the medic's from TF2, along with the back pack

Abilities:-

Passive:- Unstable Current For every nearby Enemy Champion, Wattson gains 5 Armour and Magic Resistance, 1.5 HP Regeneration and 3% Movement Speed For every nearby Allied Champion, Wattson gains 5 Attack Damage and Ability Power, 1.5 Mana Regeneration and 3% Attack Speed

You might see this as a trend through out his kit, but Wattson's main theme is using the number of units around him at his disposal. The passive gives him aggressive stats for every nearby ally, and defensive stats for every nearby enemy, allowing him to cope in any situation, no matter who's side is winning. Think its broken? Tell that to the guys who made wu kong

Q:-Borrowed Life Force Cooldown:- 10 Mana Cost:- 70/80/90/100/110 Target: Allies and Self Wattson saps the soul energy from all surrounding enemies damaging them, before concentrating that energy into an allied unit, healing them. He deals 40/50/60/70/80 (+25% AP) to all enemies in surrounding area of him, before healing target ally for 20%/25%/30%/35%/40% of damage dealt. Deals Half Damage to Minions

This is part of the reason i call this guy a support, a mix between a decent aoe blast, plus a pretty potent single target heal, just thought it might spice up usual healing methods

W:-Conductivity Cooldown:- 16/14/12/10/8 Mana Cost:- 80/90/100/110/120 Target:- Ally or Enemy, Skill Shot Wattson sends a crackle of hyper charged souls towards the target. If it hits an ally, they gain 20%/25%/30%/35%/40% movement speed for 3 seconds and a shield that blocks 40/60/80/100/120 (+10% AP) Damage for 3 seconds, also, they resonate the soul-energy, therefore, any one with a small range of them will be struck by a jump of energy, and will also gain 50% of the buff, maximum of 2/3/4/5/6 jumps. > If it hits an enemy, they are slowed by 20%/25/30%/35%/40% for 3 seconds, and are dealt 40/60/80/100/120 (+10% AP) over 3 seconds, also, there soul becomes unstable, and the energy will jump at nearby enemies, who will receive 50% of the debuff, maximum of 2/3/4/5/6 jumps

This is, i guess, a hybrid form of his kit, being both a buff and a debuff, allowing him to either hasten a sound retreat, or to hound down in a victorious charge, both allied and enemy targeting can help, either with you buffing your speed to run either away or towards the enemy with a shield to help tank it up, or a slow to either catch up with or out run any enemies, so landing your skill shot wrong wont be as punishing as missing all together

E:- Spirit Bomb Cooldown:- 15/14/13/12/11 Cost: 5% of current Hp, 60/70/80/90/100 Target: AoE, Skill Shot Wattson extracts a portion of his own life force, and then amplifies it with that of nearby allies, to launch a small ball of energy, that explodes with violent energy in a small area, dealing 1/2/3/4/5 (+10% AP), increased by 2.5 for every point of health used to cast this spell. The damage is multiplied by the number of nearby allied champions. The Enemies are also slowed by 3%/6%/9%/12%/15% for 3 seconds, which is increased by 2.5% for every nearby Allied Champion

Definitely not a reference to DBZ... although it would be cool if he shouted out, "my friends, lend me your power!" This is designed to make team fights and roaming ganks more important for him to be apart of, allowing him to maximize his kit to the fullest, and making him dangerous when ganking an over extending enemy in lane.

R:- Energy Conservation Cooldown:- 30 Mana Cost:- 1 Soul Charge Target:- Ally, On Target Wattson Gains Charges of Souls every a champion dies within a certain distance of him. He collects these souls which then can be used at any point to grant a target ally a buff of 10%/15%/20% Movement Speed, 5%/10%/15% Attack Speed, 20/25/30 Attack Damage, 20/30/40 Ability Power, 5/10/15 Armour and Magic Resistance. This Buff lasts for 10 seconds. Soul collecting is retroactive (he collects souls even when he hasn't leveled up his ultimate) Maximum of 10 Souls

Thought another form of resource would be interesting in his kit. This encourages him to participate in combat, and allows him to grant small buffs to his allies which (I Hope) aren't too powerful, but make up for it with a decent duration and a low cool down, as well as it being for free, only requiring soul charges

Hope you guys like this idea, and once again, if you think anything needs changing, just leave a comment, and dont forget, if you think a faction is in need of a support, just let me know and i will get around to designing something

That is all for now, cya Veigar

Even though supporting is not a very Noxus thing to do. Noxus still needs a native pure blood Noxian support.

While I agree that league could definately use a better "mad scientist" than track runner singed, I'm not sure if Wattson quite fits that role. There are a few problems I can spot, and please dont think I dislike the idea or anything, this is just critisism:

His passive and all the abilities that use this "count units" seem really convoluted. It makes for a really awkward "just wing it" situation where you don't really know how much stats you are getting by standing in a minion wave with some allies. I think I would change it to just be based off of nearby allies, and not enemies.

Which brings me to another point - A lot of his kit is very dual. He can do good for allies or bad for enemies, which is not thematically bad, but it mechanically makes him always decent. Aside from a lack of mobility in Leagues current high mobility stage, I find his abilities to leave him with little to no weaknesses. He scales well with enemies, he scales well with allies, he buffs enemies, he debuffs allies. In order to balance that, he would have to be made very very weak on his own, but he will not be alone because there will be enemies around when he is in trouble. See where i'm going with this?

His ultimate is like that one ability form Warlock in Dota2. It's not bad that they are similar, but I'm just pointing that pout :p. The thing is though, that his ultimate seems very unfun. There's no range, or so it seems, on the ability. Literally just escape teamfight and get damaged anyway cus your tank got a veigar ult, a velkoz ult with a vlad ult. That goes against the whole idea that the player who gets damaged should have some counterplay. Lategame it's literally a 100% damage amplifier on ANY allies damage. That's absurdly gold efficient to the point where it is just overpowered. For 4 teammates we are looking at about 40000 - 70000 gold worth of free stats to damage(ignoring that some of that gold might go into resistances and health). That's just not even legal. Even if it had a range, it would be stepping on the toes of Brand and nautilus, both of whom also have the "isolate this target" ultimates.

And ultimately, his abilities are rather lackluster. The idea of an aoe heal/damage has been passed around a lot. It's a really hard thing to balance right. His W is an always useful skillshot with a slow, his E is rather mediocre, though cool, but relies too much on him being near minions, and his ultimate is a very anti-fun ability.

So asside from that, I like that someone actually suggests a champ who uses mana AND another resource (health in your case), I like your arangement of content, and I like the lore. It's just the right amount of lore.

Why is "Niel Patrick Harris's Voice" not an option for this poll? Also: <3 Dr'Horrible!!!
