Geines, The Obsessive Neurologist

This is my first champion design for 2020, and I really wanted to expand Dr.Mundo's lore a little bit, to give it more sense as well as to introduce a new type character into the game with new mechanics and build options.

Geines, The obsessive neurologist.

Obsessed with the brain’s deepest secrets, Geines gave up all his wealth in order to continue experimenting on his subjects. Few have seen the horrendous results of his researches, but those who do, usually end up with an open head and a fried brain, among other mutilations across the body. In a constant state of psychosis, Geines uses his trusty Cane to paralyze the brains of unwary Zaun’s citizens to later drag them into his laboratory.

LORE:

The obsessive neurologist Born in a rich Noxian family, Geines had the opportunity to receive the best education available in Noxus. He was an exceptional student in medicine and soon enough, he was recruited to serve as a doctor in the Noxian military. During the Invasion of Ionia, Geines witnessed the madness of war for himself. More specifically, he witnessed how countless Noxian warriors, in an instant, turned the sky blood red with their guts flying out in every direction. Geines couldn’t believe his eyes, how could an entire army regiment be eviscerated in such little time? He froze in disbelief, not knowing whether what he was seeing was real or not. After a few solid minutes of being in a catatonic state, he noticed a silhouette of a man appear in the distance. The man seemed to be floating above the ground, meditating. “Was that man responsible for this massacre?” –Geines thought to himself, when suddenly a fleeing Noxian soldier slapped him across his face to snap him out. Together they returned to the command post and explained the situation to their superior, who allowed Geines to be discharged. When he got back to Noxus, he was sent to a hospital for a checkup. There, he saw a huge array of soldiers in various states of distress because of the war. Some were screaming, some were catatonic and some were in restraints due to their irrational aggressivity. All of this intrigued Geines, how could one’s mind be capable of such a thing? He passed the tests without any problem and subsequently applied to work as a doctor in said hospital. He was happily welcomed by the staff and began his research on the mind. At first, he tried talking to the distressed patients, but this method was quickly swept under the rug as many subjects couldn’t string 3 words together. With time, Geines learned that using ethical procedures was futile, as he wouldn’t get much intellect from them. He began by tranquilizing his patients with strong sedatives, then cutting open their skulls. Surely enough, as the patients weren’t conscious for the procedure, he couldn’t get much information from them. So Geines decided to open his own laboratory under the hospital, where the screams of his patients weren’t heard on the surface. As he gained more and more knowledge, his methods became more and more twisted. Eventually, a janitor stumbled upon a secret door leading to the underground and ventured down whilst Geines was at home. The following day, news spread about the horrors found at the hospital, which was forced to close. Nobody knew who was the culprit, but Geines was nevertheless in distress. His work, his research was about to be burned down in front of his own eyes. Luckily enough, a doctor from the Zaun’s Asylum for the Irreparably Troubled was present at the time of the burning. Geines introduced himself as a capable doctor to the man and asked to work at the Asylum, which he agreed to upon hearing new information about the human psyche. When Geines entered the Asylum, he was introduced to the purple child called Mundo. As soon as he was told of Mundo’s pain tolerance, Geines knew he hit the Jackpot. As the years went by, Geines invented more and more bizarre and agonizing methods for his research, testing them on other patients before applying them to Mundo. Geines knew every snippet of Mundo’s mind and behavior over the years experimenting on him, but one day something changed. Mundo wasn’t as thrilled as he was before about the research. When Mundo said that he wanted to do “Doctor Stuff”, Geines knew what was about to happen. He threw some toenails at Mundo and packed his most precious contraptions and documents before fleeing into the streets of Zaun, where he found an abandoned house, where several homeless people resided, who will later become his “patients”.

Abilities:

Passive: Overcharge:

Geines’ Abilities can critically strike (when crit items are bought). When his abilities critically strike, they stun the affected enemies for (approximate time) .20 seconds. Geines cannot gain Attack Damage from item purchases, converting the Bonus Attack Damage to Mana.

[Q]: Cane Zap:

Geines activates the taser function of his cane, shocking a single target enemy, dealing magic damage (%AP).

[W]: Restraints:

After a short delay, Geines throws restraints at a target area, disarming enemy champions and monsters within it for (approximate time) 1.5 seconds (single target) (prioritizes champions). If the affected enemy receives damage from an ally champion within (approximate time) .75 seconds of being restrained, he will get rooted for (approximate time) 1.25 seconds and receive additional magic damage (%AP) magic damage.

[E]: Electro Convulsive Therapy:

Geines’ mind is overwhelmed with thoughts, causing him to release an excessive amount of electricity into the electrodes implanted in his brain for several seconds. This generates an electric field around him, shielding him (%AP) and causing nearby enemies as well as those dealing damage to him to get stunned for (approximate time) 0.5 seconds and receive magic damage (%AP). For this duration, Geines is unable to cast any other abilities.

[R]: Spreading Madness:

Geines releases a big shock wave around him that does magic damage to nearby enemies (%AP), silences them for (approximate number) 1 second and spawns (approximate number) 1/2/3 illusions of himself behind enemy champions caught in the blast that mimic the abilities he casts but deal greatly reduced damage. After casting [R], during a short window of time, Geines can take place of an illusion, leaving another one at the place he was before.

Such a champion concept would honestly make much more sense to be a Zaunite over a Noxian.
