I would love to speak with riot about this, but it doesn't seem like they have any avenue to do that other than to hope they see this message on the forum. I am looking to create custom designed area rugs with a video game theme. These will be high quality and hand cut, bound and dyed.

If someone were to request a league of legends based design, it seems like I would have to say no?

Does anyone know if riot gives permission to use IP in situations like this? Its not as though I am specifically marketing and selling LOL merchandise.

Any input would be appreciated.

"selling LOL merchandise." That is exactly what you would then be doing. Maybe not specifically, but you would be profiting from it so no, I see no way they permit this, but goodluck.

If you ask players to pay you for something that’s based on our IP, however, you’re gonna have a bad time. We don’t allow that without our prior written consent first (which we only give rarely), and currently, we’re not looking for new ventures. Your best bet for creating anything with our IP is to keep if free for the community to enjoy.

For other products, we’re generally fine with you creating stuff as long as you provide that stuff for free, and don’t use League of Legends content in an inappropriate manner.
