really original idea with the illusion theme (I think it's different enough from leblanc) but if I could make one suggestion is that the point and click stun shouldn't be 3 seconds, it's actually a really long time for a basic ability stun in league*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*

Sans Hama1 votes

That was only at level 6, and due to his lack of damage i though it would give him a chance to deal more. One second thought though, with late game team fights, that could be very unfair. Thanks for the tip!

MeesterMoo2 votes

yeah man np :D

edit: also I really like the lore you made for him, it's so cool!!

Sans Hama1 votes

Oh yea working on a bit more! Check back soon!

BlazeCloud132 votes

Cool idea! The lore is cool but a little more would make it SUPER cool. I like the art as well (even though it comes from WoW )xD

Thanks daddy! Only the ability icons come from WoW actually.

I think the second part of E should restore a smaller amount of health if at all. 45% at max rank seems a bit too strong considering that you already made a clone of an enemy and possibly tricked them.

Maybe make the second part of E have a passive heal like: For every 0.5 damage dealt with death drain you gain 1 health.

Also I think the passive should only effect those within his range because the way it's described it seems like it deals damage infinitely for doing one attack but does the damage as damage over time until the enemy champion dies.

Did you mean it like: All damage dealt by Sycophanta is dealt as DoT? Over all he seems pretty cool in vision control and how he deals damage (If I got the concept right. still not quite sure)

Also for his E to be effective wouldn't he have to make the enemy invisible to the enemy team while the clone was active in order to avoid the ability being redundant?

I don't want to come off as mean, sorry if I do. Have a nice day!

Sans Hama3 votes

Just wanted to say first off, nothing came off as mean at all, and i really appreciate you taking the time to read my creation and comment!

Okay so first off with his E, it functions a bit like Tahm Kenchs Thick skin, but i wanted to it to not be Over powered, so i cant give him full health. However, it is his almost only decent survival tool, as he has no escape. Currently I'm kinda happy where it is. The reason he has so many over powered moves is because he has no damage.

I never thought of that, holy shit that might be great. I think if i take your range suggestion I really need that in his kit. So you are thinking like it becomes less damage if he gets out of range but it heals him?

Okay so with deaths drain, it functions as a normal auto-attack. He takes the damage from one auto- except it affects the enemy over time. No extra damage, just one auto attack its just DoT

As for his E, it doesn't make anyone invisible so i assume you are talking about his W, false hope. Like you said, It does make the stunned player invisible, to avoid redundacny

Thanks so much for reading and commenting, if i didn't explain something or you have more ideas please tell me!

MuffledGarbage1 votes

Woopsies. I didn't see some of the stuff. Sorry I was in a bit of a rush but now I'm fine.

Yeah you were right about his damage. I thought about it for a while.

Also out of question would making his Q deal his Auto Attack damage multiplied by 2 every second be OP?

I just feel like the poor guy needs SOME form of damage otherwise people might not want to play him. He'd probably be optimal in the support, top, or jungle I think. With top and jg being off-meta stuff. And so far he seems to have the best play making potential because of the amount of map awareness and things you could do with this guy.

Also should his ult maybe give him something else extra as a passive like faster auto attacks?

Sycophanta gains 10/20/30% attack speed.

I think it'd flush him out and give him a power spike at level 6 that he otherwise would be kinda screwed compared to other champions. I really would like riot to take a good look at this champion. He seems really cool and innovative. Only a matter of item 3157 probably.

have a nice day

Sans Hama2 votes

okay yea i defiantly think he needs a bit more damage, and defiantly a bit more cohesion with his kit.

As for being under-powered at the moment, I'm pretty sure he's decent right now, heres why. So imagine you are an ADC and you and your sup go up against the enemy ADC and Sycophanta as the sup in an All-in

Okay so you focus the Sycophanta cause he is low, as soon as you kill him, he regains 30% Health(E), so you and your sup immediately back off, but then your sup turns around and goes in again suicidaly(W) and you have to follow back in. Since you pretty good you win the trade, but as you back off, you start losing health rapidly (passive). Then out of nowhere the enemy jungler kills you and you have no idea he was there, even though you warded (Q).

This abilities would make for a terrifying enemy sup, just think about, you could never get a good gank off, and in lane, you could never know how much damage you are taking, and how much health the sup really has?

Then in team fights, no surprises or ambushes

CobaltTheMadMage2 votes

That passive would make scoring kills difficult but it will mess with the enemy's head rather well- you never really see how much damage he's dealing to you until you notice just how long your health has kept ticking down.

CrimsonCobra32 votes

As a note, because he has no scaling damage, I would build him with heavy crit and high AD so that I can just let my autos melt enemies over time. They would never see it coming. Even if they did, I can probably kill a number of them before (or after) I die.

I would probably play him mid or as an AD support (Black Cleaver + Runaan's + Eye of the Equinox + IE + Frozen Mallet + Berzerker's Greaves would probably be the build.) None of his support abilities rely on itemization either, so there really isn't a need to refrain from building damage. (Something I already do on Thresh occasionally.)

It's actually a really interesting idea, but his passive doesn't really fit with his kit, and since his kit doesn't have any scaling, and really doesn't need any, he's completely free to build whatever items he wants. Which is a mess for balancing. (I'd also consider increasing his ult's cooldown.)

Oh, and congratulations on your writing, it's gripping.

CrimsonCobra32 votes

Alright, I have to make a post-comment edit:

I notice that you do, on his E, mention magic damage, though you give no numbers for base damage or scaling. I also noticed that his W has perhaps the most CC I've ever seen on a single ability. I like the concept of it however, quite a bit. The only thing I'd be worried about is that this character would probably be permabanned simply due to the absolute annoyance of playing against him. With his kit (all of it) he would be a formidable threat to team coordination at any elo, and as a (practically) support main I would feel heavily threatened to either get him or ban him. However, each concept is really interesting, and potentially viable. I'm wondering if the durations of each needs to be lowered, and his cooldowns reduced. Because as it is, he's intensely strong, but also quite vulnerable. He exists in a strange dichotomy of intense power and extraordinary vulnerability due to his cooldowns. He would typically want to save his abilities until the right moment, but may never find that time.

~CrimsonCobra3

Sans Hama1 votes

Yea, i kinda went for that as his overall kit, thanks for really reading in an noting it. I do think i need to nerf him a bit and change cooldowns, mostly his E and Ult as you mentioned. Im gonna edit his passive a bit but i do currently like it due to the fact its distorts enemy vision of the battle.

CrimsonCobra31 votes

Hm. Alright. Well, thank you for noting my comments and considering my advice.

I know upvotes don't really matter, but I did it. Just in case it's the ONE that counts enough to get Riot to even begin thinking on this level. I'd main the hell out of this guy.

Sans Hama1 votes

Thanks so much! he defiantly needs some polishing but it really means a lot.

Pomskii1 votes

In my opinion I think E - Illusion is a little to much for a non ultimate, being that it is strong as well as it having a long cooldown. I think E and R should be switched, nerfing the R range from the whole map to a certain spot, increasing by level. Also, I think the Fog from Q should disappear after 30 seconds or a minute (length live increasing per skill level) but overall a nice champ with great art. Edit: Also, all of the champion skills have different names, and Drain and Deceive are taken, js.

Sans Hama1 votes

I felt that with leblanc and shacos ult, it would be a bit similar, due to his lack of damage i think his overpowered abilities are somewhat fair, but as the creator i probably have made him too strong! As an extra note on illusion, its only reason for the long cooldown is because it is active for 20 seconds, making it more like a 15 second cooldown ability.

Thanks so much for the name tips! I will change them right away!

Spoofghoul1 votes

pretty cool idea

not quite grasping illusion ability yet, does it make you explode on death and then regain life, as a sort of self buff which lasts 20 seconds? or does it act differently?

Alot of power in his kit yet little damage, however

you can build to enhance his basic attacks and make the death drain a really really powerfull dot just wondering if it aplies rylais and liandries and i suppose if you build crit and you deal lets say 1000 damage this will be dealth as a dot then?

Sans Hama1 votes

Thanks so much for reading and commenting! Ill try and explain illusion to you a bit better.

Okay so because sycophanta is all about distorting whats really happening, i created a way for him to distort his health and damage output. Illusion is all about distorting his health. Basically it works all Tahm Kenchs E, Thick skin, except it is invisible to the enemy and does damage upon being triggered by taking fatal damage. The reason for its long cooldown is because it is active for 20 seconds, so subtracting that from its cooldown it becomes more like a 16 second ability

Death Drain works exactly like a normal auto, so it would apply reylais and liandries only once (I will admit I'm not the most expericaced with those two, as i play adc)

As for the damage, if you built 1000 damage, via crit, it would deal all that damage over time. However this is just the same as if you took another champion and somehow got them to crit for 1000 damage.

Friendly Ram1 votes

Some spelling mistakes and confusion but seems fun. I'm wondering about his ult having 5 levels and if you plan for death drain to proc spellthiefs multiple times like other poisons.

Sans Hama2 votes

Yea, apologies for mistakes, i will be editing over those later. As for his ult, that was completely my bad, i re-edited the abilities and switched them during the end, and mistook the levels! Thanks for telling me.

As for deaths drain. It works exactly like a normal auto except with damage over time. So no, currently it would not proc spellthiefs for multiple times. But, because of his limited wave clear, i thought that could be a decent idea

What do you think?

Friendly Ram2 votes

I love deaths drain aa but think it would be good with a 2 sec delay before you are revealed/aa registers. Q im confused on how you worded "it becomes fog of war to the enemies" but otherwise seems really nice. W seems fun but should be kinda like a lb clone (can't actually deal damage) and how will the stun be(point and click channel line?) i don't like the current e much seems more like an ulti to me. Ult seems a little lackluster compared to the other true sight ultiport in the game. Not sure what it needs though.

PASSSIVE DOES DAMAGE THAT CANNOT BE STOPPED????? AND HAS NO TIMER??????? WHAT THE HEEELLLL ARE YOU THINKING?

-autos once- -walks away- *le one minute later "First blood"

But seriously did you not think about this? you have it stopping all healing effects because it can't be stopped. So Garen's passive is gone, Warmog's is gone, deaths dance is gone, and everyone is just sitting under tower until they are so low he can use is ult so that Jinx can get an easy ult shot. Did you not think about this at all when you made it this is absurd!

Oh, the art is really cool by the way. Love it.

Sans Hama1 votes

Hey! It really means a lot that you took the time to read it, and your comment was great! I think, however you may of misunderstood a little bit of what i meant. Okay, so once an auto-attack has landed, it does a certain amount of damage and that damage is irreversible. There is no "Special poison that can't be stopped" its just that it deals DoT. This is to make laning against him balanced. For a second, imagine if you auto-attacks could be stopped by using summoner 1, that would be super unfair, thats why it cant be stopped. It does just the same as a normal auto, but like a normal auto, once it hits, it does a certain amount of damage! Tell me if you still have a problem! And thanks so much for reading and commenting!

sure, just realized that I didn't give any specifics on what I thought was good or needed improved, that was dumb of me, sorry. I'll give a rundown of my thoughts on each of the abilities.

Death Drain: at first I thought it was weak, since it looks like he's going to be dealing little damage as he is more focused on controlling the map than harassing the enemies. However, on further examination I started really liking it. It makes him sneakily powerful in trading, potentially luring an enemy into engaging for longer than they should and leading to them suddenly realizing, "Oh shit, I'm losing more health than I thought" and being an easy kill for staying too long in a fight that they THOUGHT was safe. It also balances him out so he can't deal too much damage too fast and kill enemies quickly with his adc while also controlling vision throughout the whole map. Overall, I like this ability since it has clear weaknesses that he needs to work around, but it also provides subtle strengths that fit with his theme of distorting reality.

The Truth: love the idea of an ability that acts as both a ward and as vision denial. The main problem I have with it is its range. Its so short range its basically turning into a glorified ward that also costs mana. Some auto attack ranges are much longer than this even at its max rank. If this was made into a long ranged ability or even a semi global one, I think it could be REALLY cool. I'm thinking that 2500 (same range as Jhin w) to 4000 (same range as 1st level Tahm Kench ult) would be more reasonable for this ability. This would also allow him to participate much more easily in objective control, warding dragon or buffs without having to leave lane during laning, and late game it would still serve a great purpose in checking objectives or finding groups of enemies hiding in bushes BEFORE you have to be right on top of them and in their ward range to inform your team that they are there. It would also be cool if he had a distinct animation for this ability that enemies can easily recognize and they have to call out to their team that The Truth had just been used, making the jungler's job even harder as they know anything near bot lane MAY have an undetectable ward. 2 other things that weren't mentioned that would be really important to the ability, what is the range of vision that it grants, and how long does the vision last? Is it the same as a normal ward in vision, or is it more (I think more would be better), does it only last a few seconds, or is it around for a while? Also, you mentioned that wards could pierce the ability, can other things that normally reveal fog of war (minions, enemy champions, towers) reveal you or not? Because I think it would be hilarious to be pushing tower with your adc without the enemies even knowing that you were under there. Now, depending on your answers on the three questions that I just stated, it might make my suggested range too broken, but still, 500 is REALLY short for an ability with that kind of potential.

False Hope: cool idea on making the enemy champ invisible to the team. Even cooler that you can fake the enemies response. Don't want a teamfight, make them run away and discourage people from engaging on you due to a team member "not" being there. Have an ambush ready, send them in and lure other suckers into the fight. However, if your carry attacks the invisible enemy while they are stunned, it will give everything away to a vigilant enemy. I think it should make them untargetable while they are stunned, but have a percentage of the damage dealt to the clone dealt to them as well (I think 100% would be a bit too oppressive, allowing for poorly positioned teammates to get 100% of their damage onto them for free because you sent a clone their way doesn't seem that fair to me), so you can still focus the enemy without everyone knowing that the clone is a fake. I'm not sure how this will work against teams that have voice chat, or fast ping reactions, but even then it should still be useful as it is a 2 second stun that removes an enemy from the map basically. Once again though, i must ask what the range on the ability is, and how long the clone will last, as that is really important in figuring out how to balance it. I'll asume that this is a skillshot, as a point and click 2 second stun seems like too much to deal with, but I'm not sure what range you want it to be.

Illusion: interesting mash up of Zillian and Kog Maw ultimates. Since its his only damaging ability and its on a long cool down, I'll assume that it has pretty good damage on it. I like that this makes it risky to target him unless you purposely leave him at super low health. However, if you build him either tanky or with ad crit, then this ability could be absolutely hilarious. Just got the guy who built full tank items dead? Too bad, he's alive again with half health and he just dealt lots of damage to you for trying to get rid of the frontline. Need to get rid of the squishy guy who is slowly melting you with dot auto attacks that are actually doing lots of damage, well, too bad, he's back, and he's dealing even more damage now. Once again, love the synergy it has to his theme and in messing with the opponents heads. I like how it still has its weaknesses as it can't save him from bad positioning and it won't save his life if he screws up with it HOWEVER, the numbers on this ability are INSANE and something will need to be nerfed (heal ammount, cooldown, active durration). Could be interesting if it also provided a slow on top of the damage to help pick off the enemies that tried to focus you down or even to help you escape if you were killed while being chased

The Light of the Sorcerer: Nothing too impressive, nothing too weak. Overall I think that this one is mediocre compared to his other abilities. Its a weaker TF ultimate that lasts a really short time, that's about it.

Overall, I like the idea, it just needs a lot of polishing. I think it might even be an interesting idea to make Illusion his ultimate ability (with a longer cool down and a shorter active duration) and give him another shorter cool down ability on his E that he can use for harass that also messes with vision, maybe grants true vision of enemy champions hit or something of the like. If you do move it will raise the cool down of his only damage ability, and will also loose the vision that his ultimate gives him, so the replacement ability I would put in would probably be a combination of the low cool down harass and vision. Illusion is simply too good to have as a non ultimate imo, and his current ultimate isn't SUPER impressive either. Also, keep in mind that these are just my ideas on the champ, in the end, he's yours and you decide what changes I suggested that you like or don't. Whatever you decide to do with him, I wish you good luck!

To end, here is a random Karthus. Don't ask why.

Wow! Thanks so much for the detailed and really encouraging response! I hope i can clear a few issues here!

Okay so first off, with his Q, its global. In the description i said "Anywhere" straight off from level 1, the upgrades are on how much it actually covers in game. I do need to really work soon what stops it however. In your opinion should wards/minions/towers/champions pierce it? Currently i had that as only wards pierce it but that seems a bit underpowered, and completely removes that factor of taking away enemy vision except for some rare occasions and on top of towers etc.

As for his W false hope that is a perfect idea. Like I'm seriously just adding it in right now. I was trying to work on a voodoo doll potential style move for him, and i couldnt quite nail it, and you just did. I also really appreciate that you noted the ways that it can be used, as nobody else has!

For his ult, once i finish the second version, I'm just gonna switch his ult and his E right now. I think his ult either needs to become a move, or have a longer cast.

Lastly i am currently working on another champ, but once this is one falls off, I'm gonna post the completed version. I was wondering if I could give you credit and use basically all of your ideas cause you actually had so many ones better than mine.

Thanks so much! Super encouraging!

Glad to know that my advice helped and thanks for clearing up some of my confusion on the q ability. If its already global and that is the range that it reveals/denies then it is pretty damn good. I think maybe it should be pierced by pink wards, but deny the vision that minions towers, champions, and regular wards grant, so that it is useful in denying vision, but still has some counter play. As far as changes to the w go, I just realized that having a clone out for 2 seconds isn't that much, and it should probably last much longer than the actual stun does so you can continue to confuse people after the 2 seconds is over and there are 2 "teammates" running in separate directions. Glad to hear illusion is getting switched to his ult, its such a cool idea and is really strong.

And yes, I'm perfectly fine with you using the ideas that I gave you. I posted them on here to help you improve your idea, not to hoard them to myself, that would have been stupid. And thank you for considering giving me credit, as a lot of people wouldn't think of doing that, as an aspiring writer it means a lot to me.

Schaymus1 votes

I think this kit is a little broken up, not sure it makes sense, cohesively. It seems deception is the intended theme, but none of his abilities - as they are written now - interact with each other in an interesting way. Additionally, Im confused if this champ is intended as a mid laner or a support.

Sans Hama1 votes

Thanks for reading and commenting! it really means a lot.

This character, due to his low damage and abilities involving vision functions mainly as a support.

His kit is based around the view of the battle field and of the current situation. He can provide vision and block enemy vision with his Q, he can trick the enemy into engaging with his W. He can also distort the health bars of himself, and of the enemies, making them think they are okay, but actually the DoT will kill them, and with his E, he can make them think they could kill him before regaining and damgeing his opponents. With his ult he can provide vision of all enemies.

Basically in simple terms he distorts whats going on in the eyes of the enemy, and clears up whats going on for his teammates.

Schaymus2 votes

I think what you are imagining here would be a very new type of class - utility. His function really isn't to fight, get kills, or even be apart of the conventional match but rather to give one team a significant advantage in one regard in return for giving up a more traditional champ.

Imagine using W when enemy players are on Skype. Player 1 could say I'm at blue pings here and then say thats not me to the fake clone. It kinda ruins the meaning of it and especially when there is no more solo Q, its common for people to queue together and have some sort of chatting app.

Also, by no timer o the passive , do you mean it has infinite duration?

If so how does the passive interact with recalling? does it stack? fix damage or % health damage? Problems with enemies losing all out of combat and gaining in combats bonuses? He has very poor damage and too much utility so all his damage balancing will be solely based on his passive but scaling the passive too strong will lead to crazy lane dominance just from one trade that allows him to aa all his lane opponents. After ganking, the jungler will have to recall because he will take large amounts of damage from the passive overtime

BlazeCloud131 votes

Ok, but this would take time, the pings would be confusing and take up time using your mouse for pinging instead of something else, it's like Nocturne's ult... everyone can ping at their feet it's not hard, but do they? No.
