Disable chat

With the addition to special pings, why has Riot not implemented an option to disable chat completely? I find it is a very ~~~~Distracting~~~~ and it is the main reason people hate on one another in game. I have experienced a chat limiter(yes i had a bad game and got upset), and my god, i honestly prefer the limiter over no limit because it keeps me focused on other things when i have no more chats left. People waste too much time in chat when a ping is far superior quicker and easier.

Anyone else have any thoughts? Let me clarify, I am talking about a setting in the options not punishments.

No, this already exists. It is called the MUTE BUTTON.

Also if you can not control yourself to not reply to toxicity that is 100% on you, not riot, not jimmy next door, and certainly not Anne from accounting.

that's like giving the guy the tools to harm himself and everybody around him, and then punishing him when he does just that. xD

I'm sorry, i thought the guy wanted to see what his team was saying, but not respond.

Hes right tho, having a game where every 1 is scared 2 talk out of fear of punishment is tons better then this guy not having the chat option disabled

The OP wants it disabled completely. So to clarify,

If toxic chat is distracting YOU it is on YOU to mute that person. ----> If someone toxic is deserving of a mute they will probably not have anything to say. If you are chatting too much yourself, again this is on YOU.

The main reason I disagree with this feature is it he wants chat disabled COMPLETELY, not just muting all the distracting players.
