Congratulations to everyone who participated! The July CCOS is at an end, and it's time to announce the winners!

Special thanks to our judges Echoing (report plz) and Raxistaicho!

With that said, the winner of the July CCOS is...

Syllsygigoff "The 'goff", the God Slayer, with a score of 193/220! I'm getting some flashbacks to Twitch Plays Pokemon Crystal here...

In second place...oh, that's depressing.

In second place is Mistryl, the Mirage of the Canals, by Skylarke, with a score of 184/220. Again. I'm sorry, old friend - maybe the silver elemental is a good idea?

In third place, Hoodoo, the Spiny Sheriff, by Serpexnessie, with a score of 183/220! You know if you had an outreach bonus you could have won, right?

In fourth place, Klarinthal, the Fractured, by showcase25, with a score of 179/220! Shout out from Doctor Fail by the way - he loves your work, and I can see why.

In fifth place, Arsenal, the Steel Seraph, by AcidTheWarlock, with a score of 174/220! Seriously that is a hardcore concept.

Honorable mentions to Sur'Xod, the Butcher of the Void, by iKratosKlayton, and Tratus, the Corpsetaker, by Grau, both with scores of 171/220. These are pretty neat concepts and I'd like to make sure you guys know that.

You can find our scoresheets here: Echoing Raxistaicho

I'll look into getting the next CCOS up next week. Sometime. Asking about it will delay it by one hour. Maybe. Possibly.

Don't take bad scores personally! No one's out to put you down - everyone's giving you feedback because they want to see you improve and do better and make something REALLY friggin' cool.

I hope to see you again next month!

For a first-timer, I think I did well.

Now I gotta remember to do an outreach for the next one...

Top 5. Im happy with myself. Congrats to Arakadia

Raxistaicho is an excellent judge. Very fair, very accurate for my entry as i see it. As for some judging clarity/feedback:

Lore: Yea, it was unfinished and had a lot of hope for me to add more. Just never got to it, Thus not making sense, even if it was up to date to the current lore standards. And i added personality to General Darkwill that apparently doesn't fit. But the 'traitor' aspect is based on Klarinthal being a bodyguard in addition to a servant, and simply because he said so as he got hurt, being the evil ruling dude he is. Again, maybe not fitting, too short and overall needs work. Lore is my weakest point of design so i accept the score.

Flow/Fun: His E and Ult are someone both lore and mechanically appropriate. Mechanically, his E is a very very telling call that his is about to engage, and now has the means to do so even stronger than a simple q,w,q hit rotation. At the time of design i was trying to create a combined brush gank feel with a major conditional shield, like from Ekko for the offensive/engage side of this ability. This ability can used defensively for the massive shield if he is not assassinated in trade of 4 seconds no offense, or after cc is used to then used the a little movement speed to flee if needed for a counter skirmish playstyle to try and fight back. And if they enemy wanted to flee, the bonus movement speed should counter that, catch up, and keep poking them with his spear. Also, as the Q's attack is a auto attack modifier, while precision does count very much, activation is determined by AS, and is very strong using the enhanced Q with a higher attack speed.

And to be clear on the ultimate, it only knocks back minions and leaves enemy champs in place for his base ult cast to allow for the dash/grab to not be "countered" with annoying minion block pathing the opponent could take. The enhance form just executes them flat out, avoiding the problem and a very good show of his power (thinking of executing full health super minions at the expense of ultimate). His current form of his ultimate deals additional damage per source (which should change in a update soon) but outside of his Q, AA are his secondary main source of damage, which is why i added in AS here for his E.

Design Implementation: Actually think i described how his ult and E does fit to the kit above, but i do know his ult does need a few changes. Somewhat lore wise, it was (not actually put in but) a struggle to allow or fight off the shard taking over him, with him losing control and it taking over when he is fighting giving him additional shield, etc and overall new powers while somewhat losing his humanity. I thank the Hulk for this idea with his anger and transformation. Maybe if i would of written it out, it would of then made sense.

Also, you probably noticed a little parity from the buffs our favorite league pokemon Skarner gets from his bond with the shard that Klarinthal haves. Again, another issue with my lore that could of been great. And we need more Skarner love anyway.

Novelty: Poor timing indeed. If im not mistaken, I did post Klarinthal prior to any revels of the reworked kit. Actually the inspiration of his Q was from Fiora Passive. She was able to dash to the needed side, while Klarinthal used his sharded hand to throw them to get the desired effect.

Cohesiveness: That was the feel i was looking for. Although your comment does give some inspiration for an idea for a needed ult update.

Good Neighbor Bonus: Yea. I like the direction Kyrus was going. Even had a bit of a differentiation versus other blood magic mages.

Aw, this is really freaking cool! First time I've gotten 1st place alone.

I hope everyone else is satisfied with their results and feedback. I sure am.

I was really excited about sharing Syllsygigoff's lore, I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I felt it gave a cool inside look of Targon we never got from the other Aspects. In addition we got to learn about some of their culture. I felt I had to make this Aspect different from the others for a few reasons. For one thing, Diana's conscious is mixed with the Aspect of the Moon, Leona is totally independent, and Pantheon is completely controlled by the Aspect of War. They each are varying in that way. So I had to find another variation. In addition, if anyone was going to pose any challenge against Aurelion Sol, they'd have to be extremely powerful.

It's super cool to hear that my lore was appreciated and I hope I can meet expectations next month. Oh, and @Echoing, you shouldn't need worry about my next concept's name, Fronde is pretty mellow.

Two first-place concepts in a row! Great job, man. Looks like you're unstoppable :P

I'd like to state that it took me nearly 5 good months to probably think of Frank N' Stein kit and I get an Effort of 1? Cool glad to see i'm wasting my time doing this kind of stuff, though I will admit the lore was written in 30 mins and could have been a lot better. But seriously?

ModEchoing3 votes

Not effort, novelty. It's mislabeled and I'm too lazy to fix it - you can check the tab at the bottom for further detail on why Frank N' Stein got their grade.

It probably has to do with literally being Frankenstein and having not much else as a selling point, if I had to wager.

In fairness, you should fix that. It'll take...two minutes? :P

To enter this competition does your account have to be in NA? I'm an EUW account but I've got some concepts that I might consider entering, and one idea that I think would be pretty cool if it worked.

Ýones2 votes

Region does not matter, Skylarke is EUW and he got second place, and I'm EUW as well.

Ýones1 votes

If I just had spent time writing another outreach review I could've gotten in the top 5... lazy me.

Am I safe to upload a champ concept in the immediate future and use it in the next CC0S or should I wait until the next one is up and running?

Kloqdq1 votes

uh what is this....?

SSJTribe1 votes

on the champion concept boards, these guys go around and judge everyone's concepts, then have a big reveal post at the end of the month like this one.

Kloqdq1 votes

Oh that's neat! I may share a concept next month then.

Arakadia1 votes

A suggestion:

Look at other developed concepts to see what those people did right. You should also look at the score sheets and some of the feedback for good and bad entries to see what works and what doesn't.

Kloqdq2 votes

Will do thanks! I have a couple of ideas I've been sitting on and would like to flesh out :P

@#2,

You can make your own CCOS for items. Echoing is definitely busy and if your passionate about an item CCOS, go ahead and host it yourself!

You are allowed to ask, I wasn't shutting you down. What makes you think that someone like echoing could run another contest when you couldn't even run a smaller one yourself? Maybe he could, I don't know I'm not saying he couldn't. That wasn't my point.

I'm not answering for echoing. I'm suggesting that if you're passionate about an item contest you could run it yourself. I didn't say echoing wouldn't/couldn't run the item contest.

You need to calm down and stop being so aggressive. I was being friendly and attempting to help you succeed in starting an item contest.

SociopathFriend1 votes

GGWP everyone, yes even you, especially you.

I know I wasn't really around this contest but I have to say, I've been seeing a steady increase in quality (or so I think) and I look forwards to seeing next month's entrants.

(Also now I really have to get cracking on my contestant for next month!)

Boards were acting a little weird yesterday so I didn't get to ask but I heard that there was a feedback section on the sheet; where would I be able to find it?

It deleted my other post so 5th place wooooooooooooooooo

ModEchoing1 votes

See the tabs at the bottom of the sheet?

It's over there.

AcidTheWarlock1 votes

Ok, thanks, my google account was acting up, the sheet was all messed up for me :P

Great job everyone! As always, a ton of great concepts. Congrats to the top 5, and of course, to Arkadia (no tie this time haha)
