Dear all who wish to indulge in an interesting topic,

This is an idea for Riots next big game!! An MMORPG that places the character(you) in the future to change the past. "Time to start some trouble." - Ekko of Zaun

At the start of the game you meet a much older Ekko, he is the mayor of Zaun and asks you to be apart of a new project called, (something, you give me the name). The projects purpose is to, you guessed it, enter the past and fight in battles, defend kingdoms, and heal the shattered time. Ekko, being an extremely capable time traveler, wants to give the new generation a chance to impact Runeterra. So he does, what any hopeful time traveler does, sends teens/adults to the past.

Before I keep going I want to note that THIS IS A MMORPG BASED OFF OF LEAGUE, NOT LEAGUE OF LEGENDS THE MMORPG. So buffs, nerfs, changes, and reworks do not effect this game. But as you get closer and closer to the present, you'll see Ryze. Sejuani, Nunu, etc. change, but that's as far as it goes. There is no Riot Games Headquarters in it or any mention referring to battling it out in the Summoners Rift/ Howling Abyss/ Twisted Tree Line/ Crystal Scar. You will see your favorite characters fighting in their respective wars, Yasuo wandering the forrests of Ionia, Garen killing some Noxians, and Rek'sai chasing sand dwellers.

As you travel from place to place, you'll be completing missions that'll help Ekko in the present. Ekko, will give you a device so that he can communicate with you from the present. Essentially, he'll be your little helper, giving you missions for the main quest, telling you what the city is like as you enter city limits, and warning you of the dangers in certain areas.

After you've time traveled to the past, you meet an old man, he's pushing a wagon to the nearest town. You're found in an intersection that leads north and south(In between Piltover and Noxus). He asks you where you're from and you must answer Ionia, Valoran, or Shurima. (Use the map for reference) (I purposely left out Bilgewater and The Shadow Isle, because I feel like Bilgewater/Shadow is a place for pros to go to, not really the best starting place as a newb).

If you answered Ionia or Shurima, he'll reply with, "You're a long ways from home, I'm heading to Piltover. How about i get you a boat so that you've got a passage back." Follow him to Piltover and wait for him to finish selling his goods, as he's doing that, Ekko is commentating on the Old City of Piltover. Finally, the old man is done and you prepare yourself on a boat to head back to Shurima or Ionia.

If you answered Valoran he'd reply with, "Obviously, but which part?" Now you've got 8 options, The Freljord, Mount Targon, Demacia, Noxus, or Piltover/Zaun. Depending on what you chose, he'll tell you to head north or south.

"The city of Shurima has risen again." If you chose Shurima, you'd be given three options. Scavenger, Mercenary, or Treasure Hunter. (You fill the rest with your imagination, Ascended, Royal Family, etc.)

"Ionia is a land of unspoiled beauty and natural magic." If you chose Ionia, you get two(More for tribes or Monasteries) options. The KinKou Order or The Shadow Order. (You can't be a Vastayan because no furries and they can only survive in areas with a lot of magic, you'll be traveling a lot so due to continuity, it won't be the ideal character. Unless Riot makes some sort of item that allows them to roam outside of Ionia.)

On to Valoran!!

"Noxus will rise." - Darius The Hand of Noxus; If you chose Noxus, you will participate in the war with Ionia and Demacia, meet Darius, Draven, Swain, etc. Use their kingdom as your homebase. Learn from the kingdom that sees strength and nothing else. Become a warrior and climb your way up the ladder of Noxus.

"DEMACIAA!!!" - Garen The Might of Demacia; If you chose Demacia, you get to learn anti-magic abilities, become a capable soldier, and battle in massive wars. Your foundation is Justice, Honor, and Duty. Oh yea, and you despise magic users, or at least it's existence is unknown to you.

Piltover/Zaun - You get to choose once you head to the city

"Zaun the City of Iron and Glass." In Zaun, you can choose to be a hextech crafter, a mutant, or human. Hextech Crafters create hextech weapons and utilities to use for combat. Mutants, gain super human strength and become extremely tanky or can be sneaky and deal ranged DPS. Humans are the majority in the group, you can be a gunner like Jinx or follow in Ekko's time-steps.

"Piltover is a thriving, progressive city whose power and influence is on the rise." In Piltover, you can choose from being an officer of the law or a Hextech User. Being an officer of the law allows you to follow in Vi's or Caitlyns footsteps. Follow a dominating punch machine or a sniper whose looks are as deadly as her aim. Hextech User, focus on damage output instead of utility like a Hextech Crafter would. If it were up to me, Hextech Users would have the highest DPS in the game. You can also be an Explorer, essentially, your mobility is no joke. You have the most movement speed in the game and you can also flash. The best class for speed runs, in my opinion.

"Proud and fiercely independent, its people are born warriors, with a strong raiding culture." The Freljord is probably something I dont wanna dive in too deep, because of it's extensive history and it's people. I'd rather your imagination mold this place then me tell you what it's about.

You can pick Three Tribes, Ashe Tribe, Sejuani Tribe, and Lissandra Tribe. I'll let the devs decide the roles and characters you can play. But prepare yourself, if you pick the north, you're in for battles back to back. The worst pick for speed runs, since the battles will take so much time, it'll be a while for you to complete the main quest. At least the drop rates are increased and exp grinding is extremely easy due to the consistent battles.

"Feel the sun's glory." - Leona The Radiant Dawn; Entering Mount Targon you're given two options, The Solari led by Leona or The Lunari led by Diana. As a Solari you'll be given a tiny bit of abilities from the aspect and become a warrior of Mount Targon. As a Lunari, you'll be living your days hiding from the Solari and the Rakkor(the people living at the base of Mount Targon), you'll gain stealth abilities and assassination techniques.

If you managed to read this far in, I thank you. Just something I wanted to put out there before I lose it in my head. Pleeassee put any input you have, I want to expand on this badly. I also wanna see Riot make this game, It would be spectacular.

P.S. This should be a game first, sequel later. This means, make the game fun. Don't focus on leaching off of League. That's it for me, I hope this post finds you well.

The map is incorrect. Mount Targon is to the west of Shurima, not north of Demacia.

I do like this idea, though. I fucking loves RPGs.

So the three freljord tribes are named Winter Claw / Avarosans / Frostguards

but nice idea !

I would love a single player rpg game set on Runeterra in the style of say Dragon Age, but I think there are multiple problems with doing an MMO, there is no denying that we are somewhat past the prime of new MMO's managing to be terribly successful, making a new big multiplayer game that would require constant play would pose a risk of taking players away from League of Legends, and the maintenance required for servers and making new content expansions I think would cost too many resources from Riot to effectively manage alongside League.

I am by no means saying it cant be done. But making a Single Player RPG in Runeterra I think manages to be a new game from Riot, scratches plenty of peoples urge to explore the rich world more, while at the same time not being as much of a long term resource drain, and not posing the risk of being self competition for Riot's main game.

Honestly, this sounds better as a standard RPG with maybe online elements.

Why make an MMORPG and not a single player RPG? I feel like it'd be easier to make an RPG where you can do many of the same things, and you wouldn't have to worry about stuff like pvp and what not. They'd finish development faster and it could be more fun.

kinda Sad the Rakkor don't get there own group, then again we don't know 2 much about them either

nice ideas Im also thinking about suggesting a game related to time travel/dimension hopping for LoL

I like this idea a lot! but I'd personally like to have Wanderer/Loner as a origin just because I main Ryze and I'm an edgy loner boy

I like the idea of Riot making a game, just not an MMO. Is there even a market for them anymore. I feel like MMO fans just wanna play WoW and anything else will either do to much to differentiate and flounder for years before the servers go offline or they become a WoW clone and never really justify their existence as a game. I'll just go play WoW if I need to, I don't need WoW with a LoL skin on top.

I'm really enjoying Thronebreaker as a companion game to Witcher 3. Riot needs to make Legends of Runeterra a smaller game. Based on some rumors I've seen it's more of a smaller lore game than a big ambitious thing which is just what they need. Something fresh and small that can provide a different lens on Runeterra and provide a break from League but not something intended to supplant it.

I would play the hell out of that. Piltover and Zaun for life.
