League of Legends MMORPG

So I've thought of an amazing idea, and I hope you all enjoy it. What if you guys and gals at Riot made an action mmorpg that sets place in Runeterra, and you could create your own person of any race/faction, and go on many adventures, and it could have all the champions that LoL has in game, so for example, if you were a Demacian warrior, you would be trained under Garen, for mage you would be trained under Lux, ect. You could make your own story with friends, or go solo. The quests and events could be based off of what's going on in the lore at that time, or just help expand the lore. Maybe even set in the past? Maybe. You could have lots of customization and you could even have the option to tame wild creatures with the right amount of skill. I think this would be an amazing idea, and I bet many players would financially support this if Riot were to take this on. It would give players the ability to finally feel like they have a champion just for them, and they watch them grow. It could also really help to understand the lore, and feel like you're reliving it. Thank you for your time, if you happen to like this idea, please let me know, and I would be happy to do as much as i can to help this idea grow, and help get people to fund it. So Rioters please if you like this idea be sure to help get this well known, because it is a pretty amazing idea, ya know?

{quoted}...and I bet many players would financially support this if Riot were to take this on.

The problem here, sadly, is that MMORPGs are no longer the titans of gaming they used to be, especially for the massive development costs we've seen associated with them. This is doubly true because the PvE nature of the game requires constant updates of content to retain interest, which locks you into a cycle of constant content development merely to retain players -- whereas games like TF2, League, DotA, etc could entertain for years even if they ceased content creation today.

Now, if you found a way to include emergent PvP gameplay as a core feature of the game, you might be able to tap into the modern market's apparent thirst for e-Sports and shorter game durations and make something, but I'm not sure a massive AAA MMORPG is something the market demands right now. That may change, but if I were Riot I wouldn't be sold on the idea unless you could show me market data, or show me how we'd capture the big demand for fast-paced multiplayer games and/or pull most of the WoW subscribers over to our camp.

That would be quite amazing, people could explore the LoL lore better. But impossible to do for Rito. They have only one game to manage for around 6 years and it's still buggy and imbalanced af

Even if they did an MMO, they'd just retcon the plot in like 2 years anyways.
