Legacy Mode (Season 2-3) as a game mode

then the league population gets scattered throughout all 7 seasons

That would require a dedicated server to run the respective patch.

People on the boards sure love their nostalgia glasses.

I actually recommended something similar to that before, but instead I suggested that Riot simply make the patch and a legacy client available for download so that someone could host a server themselves and play matches with friends.
