Champion Idea: Cosmic Socerer

Hello, This a newer champion concept of mine, and it took some time and thought, so I hope you enjoy it. Also, if you enjoy this one, there is a link above for one of my earlier concepts that I still feel is very unique and viable, even though the discussion was lacking in popularity. Check it out, and make sure you tell me what you think about this concept in the comments below. Thank you.

Name: Carceri, Stalker of the Shadow Isles

Play style: Carceri is a fighter champion, who uses his heavy cc kit to wear down champions over time. Due to his large amounts of abilities and his unique passive, Carceri is a very complicated champion to play and build. Summoners must be weary of what terrain they are in when using abilities, making Carceri a very difficult champion to master.

Lore Summary: Carceri is a guardian of death, who ventured to the Shadow Isles to return all of he escaped souls back to the realm in which they came. He paddles around the islands on a small boat, stalking the spirits of the dead. When caught, Carceri returns the spirit back to their realm, where they are eventually consumed by death. Carceri's main goal in life and in death is to keep death alive, and in doing so, keep the balance between the worlds.

Lore:

"Never try to escape death, for it always has a way of creeping up on you." - Carceri

The Shadow Isles, lands of ruin, despair, and fathomless darkness upon where death sees no bounds. Once the land was a haven for creatures of the light, and was a beacon of hope for all those who set foot on its bountiful shores. Even the surviving sorcerers from the Great War long ago sought refuge in this mysterious place, relishing in its almost supernatural beauty. Yet the Shadow Isles as they are today prove to us yet again the limitless and far reaching greed of man.

With a mindset spawned by greed and corruption, the king of the Shadow Isles ordered the last of the Great Sorcerers to help open a rift between death and life, fusing the two worlds together. Though apprehensive, the sorcerers did as the king wished, and through many rituals and sacrifices, often ending in blood, the rift was opened, but at a great cost. As the darkness and energy of the murky plains beyond our world poured out into the Isles, the Island was sapped of its vibrant vitality, and soon all life on the Islands was turned to dust. Animals fell to the ground in fits of seizures as the fog enveloped them, and trees withered away to nothing but empty grey husks. Islands known by man for millenia as places of hope and purity succumbed to the nefarious forces of death itself.

With the fog came creatures, deformed and hideous, crawling out through the gloom. Now that the rift was opened, it seemed that the Shadow Isles have become a province of death, a place where all dark things have learned to call home in a land of light. Though the Islands may now seem permanently scarred by the coming of the dead (which may be the case), only one creature from the murk has foreseen the fall of darkness from the Shadow Isles. His name is Carceri, a name given to him by the force of death itself. Carceri worked in the plains beyond, carrying souls from all other worlds into the heart of death, for death is a living thing, no matter how twisted it may be, and like all living things, it needs to feed. Carceri was death's care taker, the creature who kept his heart of eternal darkness beating. Born from darkness and raised by darkness, Carceri is the closest thing to death Runeterra ever will see. His sole purpose in life and death is to make sure all souls are consumed by death.

When the rift was torn open, everyone in the dark plains could see it. Blinding light spilled forth from a crack that seemed to split open the world. Carceri knew nothing of light, and its presence in a world as corrupted as his scared him. Though intimidating to Carceri, many of the souls and beings who knew light in their past lives were drawn to it, and before long were spilling out, along with the fog, into Valoran. As time drew on, and more and more souls abandoned the plains, death itself began to grow weak. Not only was there times of peace throughout all of Runeterra, ebbing the flow of death, but the souls of the dying soon began to stop making their way to death due to their travels out into the Shadow isles. Carceri grew frightened, fearing the worst for his beloved master and creator. If the food ran out, then death would die, and the worlds would be thrown into chaos.

As death grew weaker, Carceri decided to take matters into his own hands. Carceri, set out on a path through the crack, taking only a small paddle boat with him. Carceri could see no other option than to go out into the world of light, and collect the escaped souls. Otherwise, death would no longer exist. Carceri now stalks the shadow isles, collecting the souls of those who tried to flee. Many men who have ventured to the Shadow isles claim to see a large behemoth, seeming to float through the dark waters surrounding the Shadow Isles. They say they hear shrieks of grief coming from the being, and the sound of people or creatures begging to let them free.

All souls quake with fear at the mention of Carceri's name. Even creatures of great power, who have been shaped by the dark energy emanating from the Shadow Isles, such as Thresh or Hecarium, seem to shudder at the thought of him. For once spotted by the great Stalker of the Shadow Isles, all souls know their fate, and that the fate leads to death. Beware the Stalker, and know that if he finds you, death is more than a certainty, it is inevitable.

Appearance: A large creature with knotted muscle running all along his body. He where's a loin cloth and hold a boat paddle in one hand. His hands themselves have huge long claws off the end. When attacking, it looks like he is reaching out with his claws, and slashing downwards. If he critical strikes, he hits down with his boat paddle on the targeted unit. He also holds a bag over his shoulder, apparently to collect the souls of those he captures.

Dialogue:

Taunts: "Death is inevitable, so why don't you let me speed up the process." (Against Champions from the Shadow Isles) "You should never have fled from death."

Jokes: "Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream..." "Death has many perks... um... you never get hungry..."

Walking: "Walking, such dreary work." "Make move any faster summoner, I dare you." "Death will hear about this if I have anything to do about it."

Attacking: "May the power of death compel you." "Don't be afraid, we might meet again in death."

In champion select: "Greetings summoner." "Feeling merciless today I see."

Base Statistics: Health: 598 (+81 per level) Health regeneration: 9.2 (+ .7 per level) Mana: 320 (+54 per level) Mana regeneration: 7.25 (+.5 per level) Armor: 24.5 (+4.5 per level) Magic resist: 30 Movement speed: 325 Attack damage: 49 (+2.75 per level) Range: 125

Kit/Abilities:

Passive - Stalker's Instinct (Innate) Carceri's Instincts change depending on whether he is on dry land or in the water, causing his abilities to change as well. Abilities for water terrain and land terrain have separate cool downs, and scale differently. Depending on how you build him, Carceri may be weaker in one terrain than another. Cool downs do not reset for one terrain when you enter another. Carceri also passively changes statistics based on terrain. Water abilities are rather overpowered, but that is because his water abilities can only be used under very small circumstances. On land, Carceri gains +5% boosted attack damage and attack speed. In water however, Carceri loses the boosts from land, but gains +5% boosted movement speed, ability power, and health.

Q Abilities: Leap of Death (Land Ability) Type: AoE/Skill Shot/Slow Cool down: 15 seconds Damage: 50/60/80/90/110 (+40% attack damage) (+3% maximum health) physical damage Cost: 70 mana Range: 350 Carceri leaps to a target location, body slamming into the ground with his clawed hands extended. Champions who are caught in the outskirts of his body slam are damaged and slowed for 30% of their movement speed for .75 seconds. The champion caught in the center point of his skill shot are slowed for 40% for .75 seconds and are blinded for 1.25 seconds. Soul Silence (Water Ability) Type: Click on Ability/Channel/Stun Cool down: 13 seconds Damage: 60/85/110/150/210 (+ 35% ability power) magic damage Cost: 50/60/70/95/105 mana Range: 125 Carceri grabs an enemy champion in very close proximity to him and holds him under the water for 1 second, dealing magic damage and stunning them the duration of the hold. While being held, champions can't cast abilities. This ability can be stopped by crowd control. If the target dies while being held under, the cool down for this ability is reset.

W Abilities: Make Way (Land Ability) Type: AoE/Knock Back Cool down: 16/15/14/13 Damage: 65/80/90/120/130 (+30% attack damage) (+3% maximum health) physical damage Cost: 80 mana Range: 450 Carceri sticks out his paddle and waves it out in front of him in a cone, once to the right, once to the left. All enemies hit by the paddle will be knocked back 225 units in the direction the paddle was swinging when they were struck. If enemies are knocked back into terrain, they are stunned for 1.75 seconds. This ability can be stopped by cc. Stalker Slide (Water Ability) Type: Self Projectile/Skill Shot Cool down: 11 seconds Damage: 65/90/105/145/160 (+45% ability power) magic damage Cost: 105 mana Range: 400 Carceri slides through the water on a set path, grabbing onto the first champion struck and dealing damage to all other champions along the path. The first champion struck will be carried along the path with Carceri to the end of the path, and at the end, will be stunned for .75 seconds and dealt full damage. All other champions Carceri slides through will be dealt 40% of the full damage, and slowed for 25% of their movement speed for .5 seconds. This ability can be cut short by cc, or if the slide makes Carceri hit terrain or go onto land. Going onto land will shorten the distance Carceri slides, while hitting terrain will shorten the distance of the slide and stun Carceri for .5 seconds and the grabbed champion for 1 second.

E Abilities: Death's Blessing (Land Ability) Type: Self Shield Cost: 90 mana Cool down: 20 seconds Carceri gains a blessing from death, giving him a shield allowing him to block all incoming damage equal to 62.5% of ability power. The shield absorbs all damage except true damage, and lasts for 1.5 seconds. The shield can be destroyed when Carceri is damaged for more than 62.5% of ability power, or if he walks into the water. If taking damage that would be fatal while the shield is up, Carceri gains 15% boosted movement speed over 2 seconds. Fury of the Stalker (Water Ability) Type: Click on Ability Cool down: 8 seconds Damage: 45/75/90/115/170 (+45% attack damage) physical damage Cost: 60 mana Range: 125 Carceri becomes enraged and smashes an enemy in close proximity to him. This ability scales with attack damage, and the cool down is reset if the champion is killed by this ability. This ability has no cc qualities

Ultimate Abilities: Bag of Bones (Land Ability) Type: Single Target Cool down: 160 seconds Damage: 100/200/300 (+70% attack damage) Physical damage Cost: 150 mana Range: 300 Carceri takes out his bag and swings it out in a circle around him, grabbing the first champion hit in his sack. He then continues to spin around for 3 seconds, and at the end of those three seconds, releases the bag, throwing it and the champion for 525 range. The release of the bag can be activated earlier by pressing R again, somewhat similar to Lux's E ability. When the champion hits the ground along with the bag, they are dealt damage and slowed for 40% for 1.5 seconds. This ability can be stopped by cc, but if stopped, the bag will be released prematurely. If Carceri swings around and catches no champion, then the ability goes on cool down, but only for 80 seconds. Paddle Boat (Water Ability) Type: Skill shot Cool down: 120 seconds Damage: 180/240/310 (+50% ability power) Cost: 130 mana Range: 700 Carceri hurls the boat from his back out across the water, picking up the first two champions struck by it. Champions in the path of the boat after two champions are already taken by it are knocked to the side, slowed by 30% for 1.5 seconds, and dealt 75% the actual damage. The two champions who were picked up by the boat are carried along the remainder of the path, and at the end are dealt the full damage of the ability. The boat can not be stopped by cc, but can be stopped early if it hits terrain or land. In either of these two instances, the boat will break, stunning the two champions in the boat for 1.5 seconds. The boat also builds momentum as it goes along its path.

Thank you for reading my champion concept. I know Carceri is pretty complicated and you might need to give his abilities a read through a couple times before you understand them. Please leave comments below to give me critiques, whether I need to adjust his kit, change his ratios (cost, damage, cool down, range, etc...), clarify on an ability, tell me if he is too op, or just give some helpful input. This champion concept took me a long time so please give this an up rating. Also, below is a picture of how I believe Carceri will look. Thank you guys again for reading this concept and make sure to visit my other concept by clicking on the link above.

This is actually a really cool idea. I feel like he would be a super neat jungler.

And the Twisted Treeline, Howling Abyss and Crystal Scar are sitting quietly in a corner, politely coughing as you come to the sudden realization that the coolest part of your champion's kit is only applicable on one map.

Interesting kit, not applicable to most of SR,and the rest of the maps in LoL. I thought you had one ability that replaces the others while in water as a way of manipulating your positioning for a quick burst of power, but I don't think this kit will have any real uses outside of SR.

In SR though, I'd play him a ton :)

In dota there is a simular champion for this. And then I am referring to his ult at the moment, overall the concept idea looks really nice and I really hope riot will consider to take a look at it.
