Champion Concept -- Master Chief!
I just came up with this on a whim so don't judge too harshly, might be OP or underwhelming, idk. I have some details but not all.
I was thinking about a champion concept for Master Chief from Halo. He could be an ADC or Juggernaut Top. The kit is unique in that there is major flexibility in play style. I'll explain after I explain the skills:
Master Chief's secondary bar is a mana bar.
Passive: Spartan Shield After not taking damage for 12/8/4 seconds, Master Chief generates a shield that scales with level.
Q: Weapon Select A point in Q must be taken at level 1. There are 3 weapons that drive how Master Chief auto-attacks (kinda like Jinx Q). One must be chosen at level 1. The others can be purchased in the store with gold. Q is used to cycle through the weapons.
Sniper Rifle -- Long Range AA's. Think Caitlyn style. Battle Rifle -- Medium Range 3-shot burst AA's. Each shot applies 50% of on-hit effects, totaling 150%. Shotgun -- Super short range, high damage AA's. Each shot also does damage in a cone just a short area behind the target.
CD: 0.1 Sec between weapon swaps
W: Frag Grenade Master Chief throws a frag grenade with low to medium blast radius. The grenade does low AOE damage. However, all targets hit by the grenade are marked. When Master Chief AA's a marked target, that AA does additional %HP damage.
CD: 18/16/14/12/10
E: Sword/Gravity Hammer When putting a point in E, the summoner must choose between taking the sword or the gravity hammer. The other option CANNOT be bought in the store. Whichever weapon is chosen is used the rest of the game. The tradeoff is mobility vs. high damage AOE w/ cc.
CD: 18/17/16/15/14
Sword: Targeted dash to an enemy or allied champ, enemy/allied minion, ward, or neutral monster. Deals high damage to enemies and monsters. This spell acts as Master Chiefs only mobility.
Gravity Hammer: Master Chief smashes his gravity hammer into the ground, dealing high AOE damage to all enemies around him and briefly knocking them up.
**R: Rocket Launcher/Spartan Laser ** Just like the E, the summoner must choose between taking the rockets or spartan laser when putting the first point into R. The other option CANNOT be bought in the store. Whichever weapon is chosen is used the rest of the game. The trade-off is shorter range, high AOE damage vs. extremely long range, hard to land, one-shot kill
Rockets: Master Chief pulls out his Rocket Launcher and shoots it a medium range (think like Xerath Q range, not ashe or jinx ult). It explodes after coming into contact with the first enemy champ it hits, dealing massive AOE damage. Master Chief can injure or kill himself if he hits an enemy that is too close.
CD: 120/100/80
Spartan Laser: Master Chief Immobilizes himself by taking a knee with the Spartan Laser. The Laser has global range, but cannot travel over walls or through towers that are still standing. The laser will stop as soon as it comes into contact with either.
Master Chief aims and charges the laser for 3 seconds, with an audible "beep" sounding after each second. Enemies can see the path of the laser while it is charging, so they are aware of where it will be. After 3 seconds, the laser fires, killing all enemies in its path.
(Insta-kill may sound insane, but in my opinion, Master Chief has to be immobilized, there is a long cast time, enemies can see it coming, and it can't be shot over walls. This is a very difficult skillshot to land and there is a lot of counterplay.)
Master Chief can cancel the Spartan Laser before it fires. 10 secs of CD are added for each "beep" heard before cancelling. If no beeps are heard, the CD is 5 sec.
CD: 120/100/80
My Take To play Master Chief as ADC, take the sniper and sword. This provides range and some escape. Rockets or Spartan Laser is personal preference.
To play Master Chief as Juggernaut Top, take the Battle Rifle or Shotgun depending on lane matchup, and Gravity Hammer for CC and AOE damage. Rockets is probably preferred with the Juggernaut build.
Strengths -- Kit Flexibility (Many play styles, hard to counter in Champ Select) -- Choice between mobility or CC -- Ranged -- High Damage Dealer -- Shield that regenerates quickly lategame
Weaknesses -- Weapon buys make already expensive ADC build even more expensive -- Spartan Laser Ult extremely hard to land -- Can potentially suicide with Rockets -- Choice between mobility or CC -- Gets destroyed by tanks or assassins that get to him and stick to him -- No Attack Speed Steroids
Theme Passive: In Halo you recharge your shield if you leave the fight temporarily, this works kind of the same way. Q: Meant to mirror weapons used in Halo W: In Halo, one of the main combos is to hit somebody with a frag grenade then shoot E: Sword and Gravity Hammer also Halo weapons R: Rockets and Ult also Halo Weapons
