Future Irelia Rework

After watching Gaming Curios' video on the future Irelia rework I became inspired to come up with my own take on her future design.

Here's the video I mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3C_gmX7aGw

Here are my ideas for Irelia:

OVERVIEW The main direction I chose to take Irelia is a mobile fighter who can dive the backline and escape if mistakes were made. She will not have as much assassin gameplay because her ability to burst will be drastically reduced, but her skirmishing power is going to be a lot stronger, especially against multiple enemies.

Beginning with her passive, I actually took a 180 degree turn. Before CC used to be a non-issue. Now it's become her main counter. Maintaining Focus stacks by dodging spells (when possible) and knowing when to move in and out of fights will become a main focus (haha) for Irelia players and her opponents.

Then comes Bladesurge. Players can still enjoy dashing around the lane, but in exchange for making the ability a skillshot the cooldown is no longer reduced 100% except in the most balls to the wall scenarios. Next we have Hiten Style which, like the previous version, is what makes Irelia an auto-attack beast. However, this time she will be able to take on more than one opponent at a time. Her blades don't follow Irelia's basic attack commands, but instead act on their own and scale with Irelia's attack speed. I think The Black Cleaver will gain favor with Irelia because combined use of Bladesurge and Hiten Style will allow Irelia to reduce multiple opponents' armor in a few seconds and allow her to continuously benefit from the movement speed passive so long as either Irelia or one of her blades is attacking. Then there is Equilibrium Strike which serves a similar function as the current, but providing a burst of sustain instead of CC -- CC which is also traded off for more overall damage. Lastly, Transcendent Blades is basically how I imagine the ability should be and basically makes Irelia a flying war goddess. Read on the find out what I mean! :)

ABILITIES

Passive: Will of the Blades

Focus Irelia manipulates 4 telekinetic blades which she uses for her basic attacks and certain abilities. The blades amplify Irelia's overall damage output when in unison, but dramatically lower her power if lost. Each blade requires 1 stack of **Focus **to maintain in battle. (Indicated by a four-piece resource bar similar to Jhin and Annie) Individual stuns and displacement effects will reduce Irelia's **Focus **by 1 stack and cause a blade to fall to the ground. Every 7 / 5 / 3 seconds (at levels 1 / 7 / 13) while out of combat Irelia will regain 1 stack of Focus.

Ionian Martial Arts Upon losing control of all four blades Irelia relies on her old-school training in hand-to-hand combat. During this time her attack range is reduced to 125 and cannot proc on-hit effects. (Note: I wasn't sure where to add this, but her basic attack range is upped to 240 while the blades are in effect.)

Q - Bladesurge | Cooldown 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 | Mana Cost: 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 Irelia commands her blades to carry her forward to a target location. Upon arrival she will revolve the blades around her body, dealing 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+1.2 AD) physical damage to all nearby enemy units. Bladesurge's cooldown is reduced by 1 second for every minion damaged and 2 for each champion. Fully reducing the ability's cooldown will also refund the mana cost. Bladesurge's damage is reduced by 25% for every missing blade and becomes unusable at 0 Focus.

W - Hiten Style | Cooldown: 1 Second | Mana Cost: 7 / 9 / 11 / 13 / 15 per second Irelia commands two of her blades to attack up to two secondary targets at will. Each blade deals 65% / 70% / 75% / 80% / 85% AD and applies on-hit effects. The blades will first prioritize up to two nearby enemy champions, then converge on single nearby champion. If there is no other champion around other than Irelia's main target the blades will search for nearby minions or monsters or remain dormant. Additionally, Irelia's basic attacks against her primary target will strike twice for 65% / 70% / 75% / 80% / 85% AD with each hit and apply on-hit effects two times. If Irelia has less than 2 **Focus **Hiten Style becomes unusable.

**E - Equilibrium Strike **| Cooldown: 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 seconds | Mana Cost: 80 Irelia sets her blades aside and strikes her enemy with the palm of her hand. Upon contact she breaches her target's soul, dealing 80 / 100 / 120 / 140 / 160 (+ 0.8 AP) magic damage and healing for 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 (+2% Max HP) HP. Additionally, if the target's health % is greater than Irelia's she will regain an additional 8% / 10% / 12% / 14% / 16% of her missing HP.

Ultimate - Transcendent Blades | Cooldown 120 / 90 / 60 seconds | Mana Cost: 100 Irelia calls upon celestial light to imbue her blades for 12 seconds. During this time she will no longer basic attack and Bladesurge and Hiten Style will have different effects. Each blade revolves around Irelia (think smaller ranged Aurelian Sol passive) and will damage enemies for 60 / 80 / 100 (+0.25 Bonus AD) True Damage. At least 1 stack of **Focus **is required to cast this ability.

New abilities during ultimate:

Bladesurge: Irelia will simply dash forward as her blades continue to deal damage to any enemy units they come in contact with along the way.

Hiten Style becomes Ionian Rage: Increases the speed at which the blades revolve by X% / X% / X% (scales with Transcendent Blades' level). Didn't add exact values because I'm really not to sure what would be appropriate. No longers causes two blades to disperse. Remains a mana-consuming active.

Transcendent Blade: Irelia can reactivate her ultimate to launch a blade forward, dealing True Damage to all enemies struck along the way. Each time a blade is fired it will return to Irelia as normal and allow her to basic attack at -25% damage for each blade missing.

And that wraps it up! So what do you guys think? Fan of the rework? Think it's terrible? Have your own ideas? Let's talk!

Pretty good for a rough idea of it, but IMHO I'd say she's healthy as she is. Weak early if she doesn't get a lead and scales well into late.
