About Lissandra's Q

Is the initial spell animation considered a single-target spell or an AoE/multi-target spell? If it is AoE, could changing the missile to single-target for the better use of Spell Vamp be too strong a buff? The reason being she has a nice dps late game thanks to the low cooldown on her Q so having some sustain helps.
