If you really think about it, Riot tries to keep certain elements of champions and their skins to provide clarity and hopefully avoid confusion.
I didn't think it's a bad idea, I just don't necessarily think it would be super fitting on him. What about Poppy? I think it could probably fit on her pretty well.
