Rick as a Champion
I like to make champion concepts sometimes. A lot of people do. But I usually tend to keep them to myself. This time, however, I've made one that I think is pretty decent (even if it never COULD come to light) so I wanna see what kind of feedback I can get from it.
So for all Rick and Morty fans out there, this is my design for Rick in the world of Runeterra.
Keep in mind that I have not listed any stats except for abilities, and even then only if it would remain constant at all ranks.
Role: Marksman/Mage
Passive: Lasers, Morty- Rick’s basic attacks deal magic damage and scale off of Ability Power instead of Attack Power. In addition, hitting an enemy champion with an ability will cause Rick’s raygun to slowly charge over the next 3 seconds, causing his next basic attack within the next 4 seconds to deal up to 30% more damage depending on the current charge. This effect can only happen once every 8 seconds.
Ability Q: Pocket Morty- Rick’s next basic attack will instead cause him to throw an alternate dimension Morty at the target, dealing bonus damage, applied as physical damage instead of magic, and applies a unique effect based on the one chosen. Every point put into this ability allows you to acquire a new Morty, and reactivating the ability will cycle between those available. Each Morty has its own cooldown, and Rick can only use one every 10 seconds. *Boulder Morty- Hits the ground shortly after hitting the target, dealing additional physical damage in a small area around the collision point. *Goo Morty- Gets only half the base bonus damage, but will attach itself for 3 seconds, applying a small stacking slow every second. *Multi Morty- Deals reduced physical damage to up to 3 enemies near the target, prioritizing Champions. If there are no enemies near the target, this instead doubles the bonus damage dealt. *Sun Morty- Burns the target and gives True Sight in a small area around it for 3 seconds. *Mini Morty- Gets a decent boost to range and projectile speed, but gets no bonus damage due to lightweightness.
Ability W: Portal Gun- Rick shoots his portal gun at nearby non-player terrain, placing a portal opening on it. When 2 portals are placed at once, any player can instantly travel between them. Once 2 openings are in place, they remain up for a limited amount of time, but placing another while two are already open will remove the older one and add some extra time to the duration.
Ability E: Microverse Battery- Rick throws out a modified Microverse Battery. While near it, allied champions gain a slight boost to Mana/Energy regen and basic attack damage, while allied minions gain a small amount of attack speed. The Battery can be targeted by enemies and has 3 health.
Ability R (ultimate): Meeseeks Box- Rick presses the button on his Meeseeks Box, spawning an invincible, untargetable Mr. Meeseeks near him that will follow him and attack his auto-attack target with a copy of his raygun. Each Mr. Meeseeks only lasts 12 seconds and does magic damage equal to a low percentage of Rick’s Ability Power, but will copy his Pocket Morty throws (also at 10% damage) and his ultimate activations. Multiple activations within a short amount of time double the Mana cost, and Rick can only have 7 Mr. Meeseeks active at a time. If at any point Rick does not have a target, Mr. Meeseeks will fire at nearby non-monster enemies, but will not make an effort to chase their own targets.
Thinking about it now, Rick being in Runeterra isn't too unrealistic. His portal gun allows him to travel between the infinite number of realities freely, so Runeterra could be one of them.
