Tana, the Shocking Shieldmaiden

This is my first time posting a champion concept here on the forums, so I appreciate your feedback! Let me know your thoughts below =)

I've long been intrigued by the fantasy of a hero who dual-wields shields, using them both offensively and defensively. I also think the rift could use a new Warden Tank, since it is currently one of the subclasses with the fewest champions. I'll try to keep this brief and avoid going into too many details - but alas I can be long winded. Without further ado..

> #**Tana, _the Shocking Shieldmaiden_**

A young vigilante has been running about Piltover, cleaning up gang violence and protecting those in need. She's made quite the name for herself amongst the Wardens for her unique style, guarding the helpless and zapping the baddies with her two masterfully crafted, lightning charged, energy-shields. While her crime fighting activities may not be officially sanctioned, they are nonetheless impressive and amusing. Nobody has glimpsed the face of the zany teenage personality hidden beneath that mech-suit... but she goes by Tana, and from the looks of it she's just getting started!

((If you're one of the artsy types and this concept sparks your imagination, feel free to take some artistic liberty and post your creations in the comments below! I'd love to see what ya'll come up with. Perhaps if this character concept gains enough traction Riot will take notice, or at the very least incorporate some of the mechanics into a future champion))

#New Game Mechanic: Reflect

Reflected projectiles are neutralized in regards to you and your allies, and are redirected to damage and affect enemies that are struck. Abilities that only reflect a single projectile will prioritize reflecting the projectile that would deal the most damage. Note that both allied and enemy projectiles can be redirected in this manner.

(I'll admit, this new game mechanic might take quite a bit of programming. Every projectile that could be reflected would need some sort of added visual effect for clarity. Nonetheless I think this mechanic would be a cool addition to the rift, and I've designed this champion around the idea.)

>#**P:** _"Static"_

Tana's energy-shields leave a little static electricity on reflected projectiles. Reflected attacks will stun the first enemy champion struck short duration. _(Scales slightly at levels 6/11/16)_

>#**Q:** _"Boink!"_

Tana hurls one of her energy shields in the target direction. Upon colliding with a champion or monster the shield will bounce to (1/2/3/4/5) additional nearby targets. (The shield will only bounce to champions and monsters once, prioritizing champions). After the shield has traveled its maximum range, or after it finishes bouncing, it will return to Tana in a straight line. Catching the shield refunds part of this ability's cooldown.

Allies that are hit gain a temporary shield _(scaling with Bonus Health)_. Enemies that are hit are damaged _(scaling with AP)_ and slowed for 3 seconds. (Deals extra damage to monsters).

>#**W:** _"Mech Suit"_

**(Passive):** Tana gains additional armor and magic resist as she upgrades her Mech Suit. Tana's Mech Suit also grants nearby allied champions a percentage of her bonus armor and bonus magic resist. This passive effect is lost while the ability is on cooldown.

**(Active):** Tana overcharges her Mech Suit for (3.00/3.25/3.50/3.75/4.00) seconds, reducing her damage taken by a considerable amount. Allied champions within range while the Mech Suit is overcharged also gain a smaller percentage of damage reduction. (Long Cooldown)

>#**E:** _"Shield Bash"_

Tana raises up an energy shield in the targeted direction, intercepting non-turret enemy projectiles for (3.00/3.25/3.50/3.75/4.00) seconds. Tana can recast this ability to lunge forwards in a targeted direction, knocking back enemies a short distance and reflecting one projectile hit by the shield, redirecting it.

>#**R:** _"Bubble Bastion"_

Tana becomes slowed, channeling the energy from her shields into a bubble forcefield that follows her around for (3.0/3.5/4.0) seconds. Enemies and Allies can freely move into and out of the bubble, but it briefly knocks back anyone who tries to dash through it. Projectiles cast from inside are blocked upon hitting the bubble. Non-turret projectiles cast from outside are reflected upon hitting the bubble.

#Combos:

  • You can reflect your Q on its return journey to stun an enemy thanks to your passive, while simultaneously causing it to bounce around again if it finds its mark.
  • Look to reflect both allied and enemy projectiles with you E in unique directions to stun your foes.
  • When you anticipate intercepting a ton of damage with your E, it’s usually a good idea to activate your W to mitigate that incoming damage. Just remember that casting your W will leave you and your nearby allies less tanky during its long cooldown.
  • Allies can look to reflect their projectiles off the outside of your R in interesting ways.

#Tips:

  • Your R can be an amazing tool to mitigate damage on your allies; however, it also prevents them from attacking anything outside the bubble. Be thoughtful with your positioning when you use this ability!
  • Beware of fast champions with CC who can quickly move into your R (without using a dash effect) and interrupt your channel.
  • Even without intercepting or reflecting any projectiles, your E can help peel melee enemies off your allies with its knock-back effect upon recasting it. Use it to reposition enemies to your advantage.
