Congratulations to the select few who participated and Arakadia for making me determined to deliver on the 31st! The May CCOS is at an end, and it's time to announce the winners!

As a fun fact, did you know I forgot to change the month on the last month's results from March to April? Awkward.

But first, your judges!

Echoing. Eh. Prospector Pete. A new guy! Many thanks to him for sticking it out!

Press F to pay respects to THE RlVER KlNG, who was judging but was struck by real life circumstances that also screwed over his own contest.

With that said, the winner of the May CCOS is...

Yen'Cruor, the Heart of the Void, by Doctor Fail, with a score of 181/220! Void: 1, Cards: 0.

In second place, Amnoira, Concierge of the Covetous Garden, by Arakadia, with a score of 176/220! Happy 31st to you!

In third place, Ayohn, the Emissary from Another World, by Raxistaicho, with a score of 175/220!

In third place, Ayohn, the Emissary from Another World, by Raxistaicho, with a score of 175/220!...wait, this is a no-ult zone, cut that crap out!

In fourth place, Kirylis, the Snowborn, by Skylarke, with a score of 165/220! I actually don't have a witty remark for this!

In fifth place, Cholerax, the Plague Harbinger, by WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH, with a score of 160/220! And yes, that's all 13 A's. I counted.

You can find my scoresheet here, and Prospector Pete's scoresheet here. I don't know about Prospector Pete, but I'll be around to answer any questions you might have.

I'll try and get the next contest up within the week. If you're interested in judging, hit me up at "[email protected]".

Don't take bad scores personally! At the heart of every critique is a desire to see you improve and do even better! This stuff takes way too much work if we didn't like you!

I hope you see you again next month!

Oh, cool! I never anticipated actually winning one of these.

As always, most all of the entries were interesting and reading what everybody else envisioned and submitted was definitely the most fun part of the contest. Congratulations to everyone, you're what makes the ccos a joy to follow. I look forward to seeing what all gets submitted next month, and good luck to any who enter.

Color me surprised.

Echoing, although we've personally never spoken I must certainly admire your passion for this sort of thing.

I knew Sir ArmaMalum well and was at one point a judge but resigned mid way due to real life obligations. I was also tasked with maintaining a repertoire of every champion on the boards (which i will entirely admit was a bit too ambitious so I took it all down)...

The fact that you've kept this contest alive is rather astounding. Congratulations, that deserves some serious applause.

I think my greatest accomplishment in this sort of thing would have been getting a single Rioter to comment on one of my champions...

Personal accomplishments that add nothing to this comment aside, just in case you weren't feeling up to it or considered stopping just know that some of the original judges definitely appreciate the effort you and all of your judges have.

(Thanks for the shoutout)

I've been juggling a lot at the moment and while I've had the time to drop by and make a thread or two and check up on the happenings of the contest, I am not confident in saying I would have been able to deliver as a judge both in this contest or fulfill the deadlines for the CCCCC, as I'd rather be honest with you all from the start instead of stringing you along for a month. I apologize again, as the soonest I will be able to post the CCCC results is most likely the end of June; this is a rough estimate as I am not only juggling my own entry for the June CCOS but a lot of work and family-related issues at the present time. Nothing excessively strenuous, or dangerous or depressing, just very time-consuming and difficult to disclose.

Great job to all the contestants, especially to Doctor Fail, you're a rising star and I'd like to see more from you. Pete, you were a tad too generous for some concepts that definitely deserved a lower score. I say that in the nicest way possible, both to you and the contestants, it was just an observation I had. Really good CCOS this month with a batch of solid champions. Next month I'm sure will have even better ones and I'm excited to see the entries begin to roll in - especially my own.

One last note, to anyone interested, the Boards powers-that-be are holding appplications for moderator positions for individual sub-boards. If you think you have what it takes, be sure to check out the post stickied to Concepts and Creations.

Hell yuss. This is my first time getting 2nd place, even if it was by a hare!

This CCOS was exceptional imo. A lot of the concepts turned out pretty neat-o.

I really enjoyed making the website but it was a lot of work. Depending on who I do next, I might make another. I'm thinking of a true team duo champion that actually works together, a Malaysian myth based spirit that connects to both ally and enemy bodies literally, and a cat based champion with multiple lives.

Anyways I wanted to touch up on one of your points Echoing.

You were talking about Amnoira's experience gain being mostly beneficial if she is behind, which is sort of true. Its definitely going to be more helpful if she is behind, but its not easy to get kills when your behind. Thus its not like she will be impossible to set behind.

And her passive experience gain isn't supposed to be as helpful when she is ahead, because if it was she would be super snowbally. Its works best when she is around even, if not a little ahead, of the enemy carry because she will gain the maximum amount of levels and she has the gold/levels to fight back.

I mostly agree about your cast time and attack speed comment. I was thinking attack speed might help her get Lich Bane procs if she bought it and/or use her passive auto faster however she still won't be auto attacking enough. And fast cast times changing in general makes a champion feel clunky/different when they dont have the buff or when they are debuffed with slower cast times.

You don't get thanked enough for putting this up, but thanks too much for all that you do.

I have a couple questions. Are numbers (base stats, damage, scaling, etc.) part of the scores? That seems really difficult to judge without actually making a prototype and running tests, which we can't really do. Other people seem to do it, but is that part of the GNB scoreboard?

Also, is there a way to know when you start accepting entries? Just come onto Concepts and Creations board often?

My next entrant will take a while because I'm making his splash art by myself (simular in style with Ogon's splash art). He'll also be the first voidborn I've made in about a year.

Well, about as well as I could expect, especially since I couldn't get my second review out. That said, I'm happy with the critiques I got, and am happy to say I've already drafted a new kit.

I don't know if you hear this enough, or if me saying this will really have any effect at all: Thank You. Thank you everyone who helps out with the CCOS, who participates in the CCOS, or even just checks it out to see the concepts. Thank you Echoing for keeping this contest going and giving such amazing feedback to all those who participate. Thank you judges who take time out of your busy lives to help Echoing out in order to give the best feedback and reviews and the most fair scores for everyone who steps onto this stage. Thank you participants who share your concepts with the community and help make the League forums a genuinely enjoyable part of the internet. The CCOS means a lot to a lot of people. So truely, all of you: Thank you. And I look forward very much to the next CCOS: both for my participation, and to see all the amazing concepts that will be brought forth!

Well, I've now met my quota for embarrassing myself in a public display for the year! Cheers all!

Skylarke5/31/2017, 7:45:07 PM1 votes

Well, it was interesting.

@Echoing

The idea behind Kirylis' counterplay was that you'd fight her in lane by forcing her to burn cooldowns - passive, W, E, due to how long they could be. So you'd bait out an ability, then strike at her while they were down, especially as you would generally max Q first. This would be particularly true with her W because her ability to gapclose on an enemy was strongly dependent on this ability as well as much of her combat prowess. In reference to the E it's actually shorter range than Blitzcrank (which is 925) and travels at less than half the speed, which I felt was appropriate given the potential power. I also drew the range of the W from Trundle, which is also 800, and unlike Trundle, must cast it directly on herself, limiting the potential ground covered.

In teamfights you would deal with her like any other zone-control champion - don't fight within their zones of power, and especially not within tight corridors like the jungle. Being almost a pure-melee champion you would be susceptible to poke and you would also need a tank on the team to initiate. The ult does seem too strong though, and I think one other reason might be that it's 120/105/90 as opposed to something more like 150/135/120, although the ranges are definitely something to account for.

Well I really wish I would of gotten any feedback before the judging started. Would of helped with changing up the kit. Considering what I read from the judges, it was clear what was wrong with the kit and what was done well. Still glad to be apart of this month's contest.

I'll express my glee for the results on another comment but am I the only who sees Ayohn got third place twice? Did Raxis do that good of a job!? 0_o

Oooh. I got the highest score in one sheet, and the second lowest in the other! Though I sort've OCD covet the last place spot, for a sort've symmetry effect, it's still a very fun result.

This round was super interesting. I also think the winner was the right choice. So much lore!
