Lore:
Lydia was once a lovely and pure young girl who lived on the Shadow Isles with her parents.Being skilled in the magical arts, her parents believed that she is capable of saving them from their slowly corrupting homeland. Lydia at her young age of course was unable to understand what her parents are talking about. As Lydia grew up, she became a beautiful young maiden that was sought after by every man in her homeland... including the king.
She was so appealing that the King of the lands which are now called the Shadow Isles took her into the palace to become his maiden. With the king's action, the queen became enraged and furious. Being unable to cope with the existence of Lydia, the queen ordered her guards to kidnap Lydia and throw her into the corrupted lands. Lydia awoke unaware of what has happened to her. She was in a foreign land corrupted by the evil. She wandered the corrupted lands in search of civilization and shelter. But her efforts were fruitless. At the verge of death, Lydia stumbled upon an old cottage in the middle of a dense forest. Little did she know that the very evil that is corrupting the lands lies in wait inside that tiny cottage.
Exhausted and Lethargic, Lydia dragged herself into the cottage. Too tired to go on any further, Lydia fell into the grasp of death. As Lydia's soul was exiting her body, a dark force took over her soul and corrupted her. She became twisted and evil but powerful. Her mind became filled with rage and pure evil. Her now dark and twisted soul defied death and forced herself back into her mortal vessel and set out to destroy the Isles.
Only when Lydia had corrupted and completely transformed the citizens into the monsters of the now called Shadow Isles, her mind clarified. She felt the light inside her disappear as the visions of the attack raged her mind. Ridden with guilt and despair, Lydia ripped the dark force within herself and imprisoned it within a coffin. However, the effect of the dark force had transformed her to the point of no returned. She wept in despair until one day, a summoner accidentally met her on the outskirts of the forest. The summoner had told her that the Institute of Magic might be able to help her. Lydia felt a sliver of hope slip through all the despair and followed the summoner in hopes that one day, she will be able to reverse what she had done.
