Community Yordle Champion
Greetings!
I have an idea for a Yordle champion, but it is very rough. I have a basic concept for the themes I'd like this champion to embody, but I need more perspectives and ideas to fully realize this one.
Simply, I felt inspired by the Dev blog post about Tahm Kench and how his ideation process. I know there's a strong and creative community here, and I know we are capable of coming up with something cool.
My rough idea is this: A Yordle (male or female at this point), who hates being a small, weak creature because they feel limited by their body because they have such a great mind. Also, they were paralyzed from the waste down, thus genuinely limited, too. As such, they dump their conscious into a collection of tiny hextech robots (i.e. any sort of nanobot concept, like the ones from Big Hero 6 except autonomous).
With the hexbots, this Yordle achieves their fantasy. They are able to take on a hulking form, as well as use their genius mind to control the shape and movement of their form at will. The champion's great irony is that they are still limited in a bodily form, and a form comprised of MANY individual pieces much tinier than the original, no less.
A lot at this point is pretty flexible. The hexbot idea seems cliche in terms of what it can do and how it does it. I mean, imaginative control and shape changing is a staple of Green Lantern rings as well as the aforementioned Big Hero 6 example. If we stuck with that, it'd have to be a pretty creative take on that concept, methinks.
Similarly, I don't just want this champion to be Veigar (big evil, little guy) mixed with Zac (made up of malleable parts that make him smaller/bigger) and maybe Rumble (wants to prove his worth via his mind in the form of his mech suit).
This Yordle hates being a Yordle, and in particular wants to be taller/bigger. That's the only non-negotiable at this point, because I think there is a story there. Someone who hates what they are and is willing to go to great, destructive lengths to be someone different; all to tower over those who once looked down upon them.
