Connection Analysis for Ranked

I'm mad, bro. Lost a ranked game where the enemy had a feeder, but because one of our players kept DC'ing and RC'ing they turned it around.

I know the fairness factor balanced it all out--our team could have and should have been able to press our advantage--but having someone disconnect in a ranked game sucks regardless.

It's terribly unrealistic, but I think it'd be the bees knees if there were a way to screen players' connections before letting them play in a ranked game. Like, maybe have an individual button that you click before you enter the queue that needs to check your current connection AS WELL AS the history of stability your connection has had. If it lights up green you can load into the ranked queue. It can't account for everything like storms, idiots crashing into transformers, loss of power, etc., but it'd at least prevent people with poor connections from playing in games where LP is on the line.

In the end, it's less about how the game itself plays out and more about ensuring that when a match begins the teams are as equally set up with a stable players.

Part of this is venting frustration, the other part is a legitimate concern. Take it how you will.

Or just simply not take LP from the team with a disconnect.
