Rogue, the Rebellion Striker
Description: Most champions have crowd control abilities that are more focused on slowing down enemies or penetrating their defenses. There's rarely any champion that have abilities that are more focused on preventing enemy attacks from dealing major damage to allies. I'm going to make a concept based on this idea but with a new attribute. Rogue, the Rebellions Striker is a saboteur class. His main goal is to sabotage enemy equipment to reduce damage done to his fellow rebels. Keep in mind that my saboteur class champion only has crowd control abilities that are meant to reduce offensive stats like attack damage, ability power, and attack speed. His ultimate however has a familiar effect. Here's the details.
Stats: Attack - 60% Health - 25% Magic - 60% Difficulty - 80%
Attributes: Primary - Saboteur (A custom attribute not listed in the game. This is going to be a difficult concept so I could use your help in making it work) Secondary - Support
Auto-Attack - Range
Abilities: Passive - Sabotaged equipment Rogue is able to select which enemy champion to sabotage. The selected champion will then have their total stats reduced by 10% for 5 minutes then Rogue can select a different target. (For example, if you have a total of 200 ability power, sabotaging will reduce that amount by 10%, which leads you to having only 180 ability power. I'm not sure how far I want to go since this ability is suppose to affect all the stats of the selected champion) This passive also effects the duration and effects of crowd control abilities. (So the effects of slows are 10% less effective and lasts for 10% less of their actual effect duration). The same target cannot be sabotaged again until all enemy teams have been sabotaged, one at a time. Auto-attacking the sabotaged target will lower their stats further by 5% per each hit, stacking a total of 20% reduction to their stats. Rogue's damage dealt to the target however will also reduce down to 20% less than normal.
First Ability - Impairment Rounds Rogue fires a red projectile that starts off slow but quickly gains speed as it approaches its maximum range. Upon hitting the first target it comes across, that target will take physical damage that's 70% of his total attack damage and reduces the target's physical damage and effects by 20% for 5 seconds. If the target has been sabotaged, it will deal 50% less attack damage for 2 seconds.
Second Ability - Bullet Barrier Rogue tosses a grenade at a target area. Upon landing, it will take 3 seconds before detonating. Upon detonation, a barrier forms around that area. All projectiles, including from Rogue and his allies (except for certain ultimates and turrets) cannot pass through the barrier from inside and out but all units are still able to move through it. This barrier will last for 4 seconds. If the grenade lands on an enemy champion, the barrier will form instantly, reducing auto-attack range by 50% and prevents ranged abilities from leaving the circle. All projectiles from the outside however, including allies, cannot pass through the barrier. The radius of the barrier if landing on an enemy champion depends on the range reduction of the enemy auto-attack. Same effects take place if landing on an ally champion but ally champions are able to shoot through the barrier. That will only apply to the affected ally.
Third Ability - Mystic Disruption Rounds Rogue fires a blue projectile that starts off slow but quickly gains speed as it approaches its maximum range. The first target it hits will take magic damage, 70% of his total ability power, and reduces the enemy's ability power by 20% for 5 seconds. If the target has been sabotaged, the target will have 50% less ability power and magic damage for 2 seconds.
Ultimate - Rebellion Shocker Rogue fires a homing projectile at his sabotaged target. This can only be activated if the sabotaged target is within range. Upon impact, the sabotaged target will take magic and physical damage, disabling their hud, restrict them from auto attacking, and silencing them for 5 seconds. Enemies within range of the pulse take half the magic damage dealt and are silenced for 2 seconds.
Synergy:
Works well with -
In order for Corki to go up close to take down his targets, he needs Rogue's help to reduce the damage taken by enemies who counter attack. This is especially useful when Corki has to use Special Delivery and move him behind enemy lines.
Master Yi needs cover as he meditates. By using Bullet Barrier, Master Yi is provided defense that will be long enough for him to recover as much health as he can. He can also use this shield to help him get up close to his foes to chop them up as their allies are unable to stop him from a distance.
Gravity Bind will force enemies to get in close with the sabotaged champion so that Rogue's Rebellion Shocker will effect as much enemies as possible while the enemy team has less mana to fire back.
Struggles against -
Ninjas don't require mana nor are they ranged fighters. Deploying the shield is useless since Zed tends to be up close and personal. The worst part about fighting a ninja is that they are fast. Zed can use his shadow teleportation to avoid each of Rogue's gun fire.
Poppy has a shield of her own. If Rogue tosses his shield on her, that will mean giving her the advantage of sabotaging him by running up to him while both her shield and his shield is activated, preventing everything else from getting inside. It's especially effective if Rogue is trapped inside with Poppy.
Shields cannot block lasers. The Disintegration Rays are too powerful to be blocked. Even Rebellion Shocker's hud disabling effects won't seem much towards hurting Vel'koz. He only needs Rogue in his sight and Rogue needs to get in Vel'koz's sight to make use of his abilities.
Tips: Playing as Rogue -
- Use Bullet Barrier to prevent ranged attacks from hitting you whenever you are being pursued or when you are are rescuing an ally. Be cautious when using it for offense. Using it on melee allies or ranged enemies are highly recommended to make this ability more effective.
- Prioritize which enemy you should sabotage with your passive. Don't always use it at the beginning of the match. Wait until you see which enemy will most likely serve as a threat late game then make the choice of sabotaging them.
- Balance your build between attack damage and ability power. Your abilities are made to sabotage both physical and magic attacks.
Playing against Rogue -
- If you are ranged, quickly retreat if you are under the effects of Bullet Barrier unless you have enough allies to cover you to get in range. You can use the shield as an advantage of getting close with the enemy.
- If you are the sabotaged victim, focus your build on one stat to ensure you remain most effective.
- If your hud's been disabled, stay near your teammates and follow their path. That way you'll be able to keep working efficiently when in certain team fights. You should also move your camera around to see your teammates until the hud disabling effects wears off. If your hud gets disabled in team fights, your team should retreat quickly.
Lore: Zuan has always been infamous for performing barbaric experiments, resulting in mutations that can help the test subjects or risk hurting the test subjects severely. It is up to the point where most well know Zuan scientists even experimenting on themselves. Some end up as mutated abominations, other end up as robotic ones. Overall, these experiments usually have dangerous results such as improper mutations, loss of consciousness, or even death to both test subjects and experimenters. There had been reports of accidents happening often all over higher class research facilities. So barbaric experimenting is most common among the occupants of Zuan.
It was up to the point where Zuan began something far too dangerous for everyone. A point where even Zuan scientists would disagree with which led them to being executed, imprisoned, or banished. Zuan was planning on developing a destructive weapon that can destroy and entire city in just one shot.
Zuan was developing something they call. . . a nuke.
Nukes are destructive weapons use to get an instant win for the user while leading to destructive results that can even negatively impact the user itself. It can even destroy its own men.
Many scientists and Zuan agents disagreed with this experiment which led to a civil war against the government. Former Zuan agents formed a rebellion group, Outback. Outback is a rebellion organization who's purpose is to sabotage development of far too advanced and dangerous weapon projects such as Zuan's nukes. Founder of the project was a former elite Zuan agent, code named Rogue. Rogue was among the first to disagree with the nuclear project and one of Zuan's best agents ever to offer. Due to his disagreements, his family was threaten to be killed by other Zuan agents or experimented on. Rogue knew the dangers of going against the government and informed his family to leave Zuan as soon as possible unable to provide explanation. Meanwhile, many Zuan agents under the command of Rogue are loyal enough to agree with his disapproval of the nuclear development. Later on, there was a gun fight between Rogue's loyal agents and the rest of the Zuan agents. There had been casualties on both sides. Because they were outnumbered, Rogue and his loyal agents and scientists are driven out of Zuan.
Later on, Rogue and his agents went to Noxus after they learned of another rebellion group that went against Noxus's evil ways. The group known as the Grey Order. They learn that they lived in the Voodoo Lands and went to contact them to request for help against Zuan. Rogue knew Zuan was in an alliance with Noxus which was why they had to turn to the Grey Order. They offered the Grey Order knowledge behind Zuan's weaponry in exchange for their men to recruit into their rebellion. It took awhile to negotiate with the Grey Warlock and the Shadow Witch themselves. But eventually, Rogue's story about his family, who have all gone to hiding, caught their attention. They agreed to aid Rogue's campaign, knowing that it will give them an advantage against Noxus once Zuan's government have been taken care of.
And thus, the Rebellion Organization known as Outback was born.
Rogue leads his fellow Outback agents in a civil war against Zuan. They began their campaign in stopping the development of nukes by sabotaging or destroying nuclear production facilities and even stop supplies from reaching their destination.
Of course blood has been spilled and casualties were made. But after years of fighting this civil war, Rogue was running low in units. Not even the Grey Order can provide enough men due to their casualties from the Voodoo Lands's natural conditions. Rogue had to find a way to recruit more units from across Valoran. Being a former Zuan agent will make him the enemy of Zuan and Noxus's rival cities. Being a rebel will make him the target of Zuan and Noxus. He had to find a way to gain a better reputation for his organization.
It was then he learned of the Grey Warlock and the Shadow Witch having a child, a child with dark powers. He also learns that they've sent her to participate in a well know competition founded by the Institute of War. The competition known as the League of Legends. Rogue heads for the Institute of War to request the Summoners that he participates as a champion an representative of Outback. The Summoners Agreed and allowed him to participate.
Little did he know at the time that Zuan's government has completed a prototype and are planning to test it on the fields of Justice Secretly. Rogue has to hurry and gain more recruits. Fighting in the League of Legends will provide Outback with more powerful recruits in hopes of preventing Zuan from starting a one sided nuclear warfare.
"We go as far as experimenting on prisoners or on ourselves. But to make such a weapon would end us all." - Rogue's disagreement with the nuclear development.
Sneak Peek Trick: Zuan is testing their nuclear prototype on the fields of justice. If the match lasts for 1 hour, a screen appears at the top right corner of your screen. An agent from Outback appears in screen, warning you that Zuan is about to launch a prototype nuclear war head in 30 minutes. Both sides have 30 minutes left to finish the match. If the match is not finished before hand, the bomb is launched and everyone dies, leading to a defeat on both sides. Instead of the camera zooming into one of the nexus's, the camera will instead zoom all the way out until the entire map is viewed. You will then see the entire map explode and nothing but flames and radiation are left and you will see the words defeat appear the same way you lose a match, but both sides will see it. There will be no victor for either side if the bomb has been launched. So finishing the game as soon as you can is highly advised that is if you want to gain more IP. Otherwise, enjoy the fireworks.
Appearance: I'm not sure what Zuan agents wear. Rogue wears a similar clothing since he was once a Zuan agent himself but it has a different design to portray his rebellious campaign. He's a gunner champion but not mainly a marksman. He wields a rifle with a dark shoulder cape on his left shoulder.
