DISCLAIMER!!! I AM NOT SOMEONE WHO WRITES A LOT OR PAYS A LOT OF ATTENTION IN ENGLISH CLASSES! THE STORY SWITCHES FROM PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE I KNOW JUST GO WITH IT AND I WILL TRY AND GET BETTER SINCE I LOVE RIVEN AND I WANNA ACTUALLY CONTINUE MAKING THIS STORY UNTIL I DECIDE THERE IS NOTHING LEFT I WOULD LIKE TO ADD TYVM AND ENJOY!!!

"AHHH!"

Riven awoke in a panic. This wasn't the first time that she had woken up from a deep slumber sweating and screaming. Ever since the homicide of her long lost companions she had never been the same. Riven had been wandering the mountains of Ionia for the past few years now, longing for a purpose. She still remembers their voices, and how they abruptly faded out of their bodies as the poison from the Mad Chemist slowly consumed their life essence. The Exile has yet to have a restless night of sleep ever since. She has resorted to alcohol to ease the pain, the pain of the screams of people she once knew as 'friends'. How can anyone forget something so horrid?

This night was just like the rest. The realization that the events of her dream were just that allowed for her depression to consume her once again. Most other nights Riven would try to forget about them and fall back to sleep, however she decided that there was no point in attempting so futile. There was no way she could get some rest for at least a little while now so in the dead of night she arose from the tree that she was leaning on and ventured off into the night. Soon dawn struck the horizon.

As the piercing rays of sunshine made their way through the ridged peaks of the mystical island Riven finally could see far enough in front of her to make out a town of around 20 or 30 buildings.

"Finally, maybe they won't recognize me." She hoped. Most of the cities and villages of Ionia could easily decipher that Riven was of Noxian origin, some could even recognize that she, at least previously, was a part of their ruthless military. The amount of innocent lives that had to be lost just so she could get on with her exiled journey would almost outnumber the amount she had killed during the war. She would insist that she hated Noxus even more than the Ionian people probably do but their wasn't a soul who believed her alibi. However she had traveled far into the Ionian wilderness, far enough away (at least she hoped), that people would not consider the armored warrior a threat.

When she finally reached the town the holy ball of fire was directly above her scarred face. To her surprise Riven was greeted with smiles and warm welcomes instead of forged iron and steel. She entered the local tavern and took a seat at the bar.

"A traveler? This deep into Ionia? Well what a pleasant surprise! What brings you this deep into the mountains miss?" The tavern keep was eager to stir up conversation it seemed.

Dodging his question entirely she pointed to a clear bottle of the pure Moonshine. "Give me the whole bottle."

"It's high noon!" he exclaimed, shocked and also quite offended in her tone, "Plus you don't look like you have anything of value on you, why would I give you the whole bottle!?"

T H E T I M E F O R T A L K I S O V E R .

She unsheathed her blade as the pieces reforged into the beauty of Noxian blacksmithing. As she pointed the broadsword at the innocent man's shivering neck she demanded this time, "The Moonshine, NOW!"

"No means no, miss, Your puny threats wont make getting that finely crafted ale to you any sooner." The bartender said surprisingly calm.

Riven sighed, "Well you called my bluff, I'm not going to kill anyone that doesn't draw their blade onto me heh." She let out another sigh, "So you want to know why I'm travelling Ionia, huh? Well I don't think you'll like me after that story."

"You just drew your blade to my neck! You don't think I dislike you?" The bartender said jokingly.

"Ha! touche'. Well I guess I owe quite the story. First off if you couldn't tell I'm not from Ionia." Riven stated, giving into the wise bartenders request.

"You got me! So where are you from? Demacia? Piltover?"

"Noxus."

The room went quiet. Although the time was noon there were three other people inside the bar chatting about. Once she said that faithful word everyone was now locked right onto her.

"Noxus.... well you are quite a ways from home then!"

"THAT HELL IS NOT MY HOME!" Riven screeched to the ignorant man. Riven suddenly noticed the crowd that she had created around her, "I'm betting you all want me dead now, right?"

"Why? You haven't done anything wrong yet. Please continue." The bartender answered.

Shocked Riven fell off the stool that she had been resting herself on. She had never had anyone so accepting of that fact. She was confused but at the same time, grateful. She dusted herself off and stood back onto her seat. She tried to speak but she was still befuddled from his response. She swallowed and took a deep breath.

"Thank you."
