A PSA to people who point peoples ranks out.

Just don't. In all honesty it is very rood to say something like "I'm gold how am I beating you when you are plat". If someone has worked for their rank they shouldn't be afraid that they do poorly one normal game. If someone is going to try a stupid build in a normal game or ends up doing poorly for whatever reason they already feel pretty shitty. Just don't bring up their rank, really bad manners in my opinion.

That's all continue with the DQ complaints.

This is normals; we take things seriously here! Go play ranked if you want to try something new or non-meta.

In a similar topic, I have zero respect for people who try to use their rank to win an argument involving League (This predates Season 6).

If you are an actually good player, then you wouldn't need to bring up your rank to prove your point, rather you should present a valid counterpoint; bringing up rank rather then presenting an actual discussion is not a valid response and only makes you look like a fool. I don't play ranked much, I don't want to be bothered with it and I've been playing MOBAs for a really long time, ever since the golden days of Warcraft 3 and I don't like being talked down to because I'm unranked so they either use their rank or my lack of one to claim I'm wrong when discussing something, rather then presenting valid points.

Riot has never addressed decay and novice pollution in ranked. Anyone taking a break from the game needed a safeguard instead of slipping into defaulted bad. In combination with dynamic queue this creates some salty situations.

It is bad for the game because it pits people who play significantly on a higher level with people who have no idea how the game works yet or their champions on a fundamental level. You lose skill by being around too much of it while grinding, overall this makes normally once good players into a slump where they cannot improve. This makes boosting lucrative because in order to play good you have to play with players that are good at the game if you're somewhere in the middle like gold-plat. In order to survive you're better off playing another game, waiting stupid amounts of time for a change in the meta, or owning multiple counts to fluke into less games being needed to achieve higher level gameplay (which cheapens account integrity in ranked play, as they have nothing to lose in a game should they decide to troll it).

Grinding low elo is basically a crapshoot meta where you can't really rely on any higher level strategies, because ultimately those strategies rely on teammates. It isn't fun for people just trying to get to their level because of artificial circumstances such as smurfs, griefers, passive-aggressive statistic gatekeepers/series trollers, and novice noobs.

Defaulting noobs into silver 3 is probably the most harmful single thing that could happen to the player pool, next to boosting. This is the main reason why silver is so inconsistent and is genuinely frustrating as a ranked mechanic.

I think that solving a few lower elo problems such as silver noob/novice flooding and adjusting the MMR for lower elo premades (no more crappy X5 duo ruining your X2 series) will overall improve the consistency of ranked in a way that it might actually make dynamic queue likable.

Wat.

The only time I use my rank against someone is when they flaunt about being Plat/Diamond.

TBH; Rank means little more than " I get a free skin this year! =D " Kind of thing.

This also applies to ranked borders, it gets frustrating to get called boosted for having a bad game. I just finished a game where 2 teammates were flaming me for having a Silver border (I'm platinum I at this moment) when I got placed Mid as a Kindred one-trick.

Rank doesent matter shit in S6, instead, now i point marks/emblems, and whoever got dynamic/team i tell them to stfu cause boosted people have no voice here.

Only time I'm using my rank is to make fun of myself in front of people who know gold and mastery levels don't mean much... all in for humor purposes, really.

There's no reason to bring up about rank over anything, really. Most people don't give a shit and just wants to play.
