Lao'Xan, The Void Patriarch (Bruiser Champ Concept
[Gameplay Basics] Primary Role: Fighter Secondary Role: Support
Lao'Xan is what I'd imagine a more sentient and power-seeking voidborn would look like - but I added a twist to the lore, that they could be part of the link between Icathia and possibly a (civilization?) location in the Void. I wouldn't really know though, but I liked the concept in my head. I wasn't sure if I wanted a reverse of Azir, or more leaning to Mordekaiser.
[Appearance] About Mordekaiser's height, they'd either be covered in generic indigo carapace, or maybe a deep purple set of armor with an alien looking skirt near the leggings(kind've like Olaf's, I guess.). I can compare his feet to Rek'Sai's arms, and head/mouth kind've the same, except with eyes. Also thought of a crest of odd-looking feathers on his head. He also has a large flail-like weapon made of skulls and a bone-like handle. Maybe Lao would have some reptilian-ish wings, even though only he had wings, his people did not.
[LORE] (TL;DR: old void civilization, died due to the rifts opening and causing a disease among the civilization, Lao'xan didn't die due to his condition, and was in isolation until he saw a new rift, and he went through out of curiosity and despair.)
Now, some have seen the rifts, heard strange stories - of the void, and the horrors within. But to the beings inside of it, there was something that existed previously, that served as the first link. When Lao'Xan was young, his tribe fought other less organized creatures for their lands, forcing them to serve to their will. The small tribe grew to a band of several different species, taking land and building advanced camps. Before Lao'Xan matured, the lands split into several factions, his kind getting slaughtered as they split, because divided, they could not survive. Lao'Xan couldn't stand more havoc, and quickly went to the best crafters he could find, assembling a flail, and a hulking set of armor. He rose, and took his people's support by force, then conquered the lands once more, wiping out many creatures to ensure the survival of the region's skewed sense of stability. Time (even though I think the void is immune to most passing of time, which i find quite odd) passes, Lao'Xan's reign lasted to what seemed like forever, he grew to a large size, which is a common trait among leaders of his kind. He became strong, and took domain over the region, ruling as a Patriarch.
Then, at some point, after raising of several gathering sections (cities) the void rifts began to open due to an anomaly. As the Void brings horrid things to Runeterra; Runeterra brought horror to the Void. Anomalies surged inside, causing disease, which spread like wildfire through Lao'Xan's empire. His kind fell to the disease easily, dropping numbers remaining to a handful, they too perished later - except the Patriarch himself. His empire fell into despair. What voidborn that did not perish to the disease, became loners and regressed to packs once more, the massive structures falling into disrepair. Lao'Xan, filled with the feeling of failure, as he was the only one immune, and he could not save his people. He sealed himself in a cavern, a tomb, atop a throne made of the skeletons and bricks of a fallen empire, a crown of pieces of fallen voidborn.
After a large passage of time, which many rifts had opened, and it wasn't as uncommon for a Voidborn to get curious of what was on the other side. He felt his cavern collapse, a rift was open, light had shown through. He felt that the disease would finally end him, so that he may die with his kind.
He pulled his cold (void metal) covered hand, reaching into the rift, then being pulled inside. The light nearly blinded him entirely at first, but he soon adjusted. It was very foreign to him, but yet he had a small sense of peace. He then came to see... beings, almost shaped like him, just much slimmer and smaller. They used magic, trying to kill him, seemingly, yet he refused. He struck back at the odd mages, yelling and swinging his flail for the first time in nearly forever. "They were very... frail. I did not understand why they ran after they attacked me. Some hailed to me as a mighty being. I did not spare them from my wrath. Weakness is death, some time or another. I see this land and think I can claim dominance over its people - a new tribe. They will fall to their knees among me."
He freshly comes to Valoran, wandering and finding the proper place to take, to begin a new dominion. In the distance, he saw something- could it be a city? Or a fallen one? Or even soon to be?
[KIT] Passive:** Dimensional Voyage** Every 120 seconds, a two-way rift spawns on the map, it will stay unusuable until it is right-clicked by Lao'Xan, which opens the rift for five seconds. (Length of a tahm kench ult, channel speed of a rek'sai ult) Rifts spawn randomly, up to 6 different pathways. Exception being Vengeance of the Xan, which manually creates a rift at the nearest possible rift location by Lao'Xan. The passive remains up until used, and if off cooldown, Lao'Xan deals increased (5%, but scales by 2% of his bonus armor and 2% of magic resist.) Lao'Xan also deals an additional 5% damage to smaller monsters.
(Rift openings do not show normally on the enemy minimap, they have to discover the openings manually.)
(Q) -_ Flail Swing_ - Damage: 40/55/70/85/100
Lao'Xan swings his flail in a cone, dealing damage based on his AD(20%). The range is moderate (cho'gath silence range).
(W) - **Patriarch's March ** Buff %: 3/5/7/10/12 Movespeed: 10/12/14/16/20
Lao'Xan roars and charges, creating a void aura around him that increases movespeed of himself and allies and damage resistance if running towards the enemy, only he retains the buff if he's running away. The aura expires after 3/3.5/4/4.5/5 seconds.
(E) - **Catch the Weak ** Damage: 20/25/30/35/40 Stun: 0.5/0.8/1/1.5/1.8
Lao'Xan jumps forward, slamming his flail into the ground, dealing damage and slowing enemy champions caught by it. This ability stuns champions already slowed by another source. (Chilling smite, allied champions.)
(R) - Vengeance of the Xan Dmg Increase: 4%/8%/10% Resistance Increase: 3.5%/4%/5%
Lao'Xan becomes linked to his homeland and kin, donning a ethereal set of horned spiritual armor, and his flail lights up with energy. His abilities become empowered (damage and resistance only, damage by 10% and resistances by 5%). He gains 5% cooldown reduction (unless capped).
Vengeance of the Xan can be recasted during its duration to create a rift (like in Dimensional Voyage) at the closest possible rift passage by Lao'Xan.
He also has a change in tone of voice, and says additional taunts.
