Verana, the Kumungu Tyrannus
Note: None of the pictures attached in this post are mine. Credit to original artist(s). I also avoid using exact numbers not essential to ability concepts because I want to portray the concept without diluting it with over-complication. Lastly, my goal when creating a new kit concept is to include at least 1 mechanic that either innovates an existing mechanic, or introduces something entirely new to the game.
Lore Blurb: An extremely territorial giant lizard (read: dinosaur), Verana is the highest predator on the food chain within the Kumungu Jungle. The only thing she hates more than someone in her territory is someone going near her young. She toys with her food, slowly bleeding them out both as entertainment and to teach her raptorlings how to hunt.
Name: Based off the Latin Word Varanus, a genus classification for lizards. Faction: Kumungu Jungle Race: Raptor Weapon: Claws and Teeth Type: Fighter/Assassin Roles: Top/Jungle
Lacerate (Passive): Verana gains 5 fury on every basic attack she or her raptorlings make. Her bleed effects deal 0.65% more damage per point of fury (max 65% increase, and bleed damage is determined by her fury at the moment of application).
In addition, if Verana makes 3 consecutive basic attacks on a bleeding enemy they become Lacerated, receiving Grevious Wounds for 4 seconds and refreshing her bleeds on them, carrying over any remaining damage to the new application. An enemy cannot be Lacerated more than once every 10 seconds. (This ability has no effect on bleeds applied by other champions such as Talon and Darius). Basic attacks made by her raptorlings can also trigger Lacerate.
Mutilate (Q): Verana sinks her teeth into a target enemy dealing physical damage and causing them to bleed for additional physical damage over 4 seconds. If Verana casts this ability while at max fury, the target will be slowed for 2 seconds. (Bleed Damage: 20/25/30/35/40 + 2.5/3/3.5/4./4.5% of target's max health)
Survival and Instinct (W): Passive: Verana gains 15/20/25/30/35% bonus movement speed when moving toward an egg within 2000 range.
Active: Verana consumes all of her fury to lay an egg at a nearby location to incubate. These eggs act as wards, but do not stealth and have a 3-hit health bar. They will remain active until hatched or destroyed. Verana can have up to 6/7/8/9/10 eggs on the field at a time.
Go for the Throat (E): Verana zigzags in a targeted vector (same aiming system as Rumble's ult or Viktor's Death Ray), leaping to point A and then again to point B. All enemies she passes through take physical damage and bleed for additional physical damage over 6 seconds. If she damages an enemy that is already bleeding, Go for the Throat's cooldown is halved (this effect works in tandem with bleed effects from other champions such as Talon and Darius). Any active raptorlings will leap with Verana when this ability is activated. (Bleed Damage: 30/45/60/75/90 (+1.0 Bonus AD)) (Cooldown: 18 secs at all ranks)
Carnage (R): All of Verana's eggs immediately hatch regardless of their location on the map, spawning uncontrollable raptorlings that last for 30 seconds and converge on Verana's location. Raptorlings gain bonus movement speed based on their distance from Verana up to 200% (in order to reach her quickly and simultaneously). They will attack whatever Verana attacks. (Raptorling base movement speed: 425)
Gameplay: Verana is very skilled at guarding her territory by placing eggs at vital locations within her side of the jungle, where they are most likely to survive. She will almost always see an enemy entering her jungle, and due to the passive on Survival and Instinct (W), she will be able to fend them off if she's close enough. Unfortunately, she can do nothing to protect her eggs if she places them within the enemy's jungle, although she will be able to spot their movements briefly before they destroy her eggs.
With Go for the Throat (E), Verana can ambush an enemy from around a corner by quickly zigzagging over terrain and through bushes. Because this ability is effectively a double-dash, she can easily dodge skillshots during a gank or juke enemies while escaping through the jungle. She likes to play with her food as they bleed to death, so she is rewarded for using Go for the Throat offensively, especially if she's chasing down a low-health enemy.
Verana only gains fury on her basic attacks rather than her ablities like other champions, so her damage is very reliant on staying on top of an enemy. When she activates Carnage (R), she only needs a few precious seconds to gain a massive numbers advantage at the expense of all the vision her eggs grant, so it's best used as an all-in tactic or a counter-engage. The more raptorlings she manages to spawn, the more damage she can dish out while gaining fury at a highly accelerated rate due to her raptorlings triggering her fury generation and Lacerate.
