How Blitz COULD look if he got a full VU

I dug up a half finished model of blitz that I did a few months ago, so I decided to finish it. Thoughts on it?

I just threw some lazy materials on it, because I suck at UV mapping and texturing, but other than that I worked pretty hard on this, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

If somebody were to ever texture this, I think it'd be awesome to make into a custom skin for blitz. I'd just need an skn/skl converter, because mine's really wonky when importing bones, plus it only goes one way.

Is that in Maya? It's pretty good man. I'm an animation student myself and have started roughing out my first League champ myself haha. I've got a couple of suggestions/critiques. I actually think it's a really well built model, but come things could make him a little more awesome.

    • First, are the 2 silver rings around his forearm meant to look circular or edged? The left pic (front on) makes them look like cylinders but the right ones look more like they're large nuts.
    • His legs seem a little too dumpy. I know that Blitz as a character is very top heavy, and his legs are small as heck now, but yours are thicker (or at least look it) that his current ones, so it seems sort of like he wouldn't be able to walk on them. I'm not saying to bring them out to the length of normal legs, but a little bit more length seems like it could shape him a bit better.
    • His shoulders are a little bland and square. What you have now is fine because I mean he's a robot, it's alright to look bland and square, but the rest of his character model is very round and curved, and so they just out quite a bit. Maybe soften the bevel a bit more. That or just add a little something to soften their appearance a bit.
    • Bring the hinges on his fingers in more. For something like a hand that would be grabbing things, those hinges would get in the way/wear down over time, where as if they were flush between the digits, it could still bend and be more functional.

As you said you're not good with texturing which I completely get (the bane of my existence as well haha) so he's cool how his is now. Maybe reduce the reflection on him a little bit. At the moment he's so shiny he's reflecting off himself.

Other than those nitpicks man, honestly you've done an awesome job. Good stuff.

well modeled. With a skin, or a concept drawing to go with the model, it would obviously make it easier bring across the feel of the skin, but overall well done.
