TFT TCG
TFT is amazing and as someone who’s never played an auto chess game before this was an amazing genre to pick for this game. But this was reminiscent to a genre that’s very popular and I personally play a lot being TCGs.
I feel like TFT could work very well as an irl TCG. Some gameplay elements wouldn’t transfer over well such as battling monster camps in between pvp.
Things that could carry over would be like: •Have it be a 2-8 player game •Have 100 or less base HP for everyone •Take like 2-3 damage for each character that lives after a fight •Draw 5 Cards at the beginning of each turn or each time you Reroll •To Reroll you pay 2 Gold (think Mana or other resources in games) •XP would be similar in some way •Different cards would have there rarity ranks be there cost. Foiling could also be more unique based on the how high the ranks. (1 cost would be Common like Warwick, 2 cost would be Rare like Shen, 3 cost would be Epic like Katarina, 4 cost would be Legendary like Kindread, and 5 cost would be Ultimate like Kayle) •Cards can display art, stats, skills, and class bonuses •Armor could have a separate deck but idk how it would work in this format •Silver and Gold champs can be extra deck cards. •Deck Building could be interesting in that the max you can have of 1 card is 9 to be able to reach Gold tier. The interesting part is the limitations. If you have a set limit for a deck you could purposefully opt out of not maxing our cards to 9 and and stop at 3. Limitations on how many classes you can have would be interesting too. •Skills might be hard to pull off without the use of dice, but I wouldn’t want to add more RNG then there should be •Can introduce “Chroma” Sets where you can get your the same exact card but with different art/with unique foiling. For example: Garen is a 1 cost champ so he wouldn’t get a foiling. But in a chroma set he could have his art be the God King Garen art and have foiling. So for people that like using him a lot would bling out there deck.
I think it’s a cool idea to look into, you could add figures for a board game aspect but I feel like going for a standard card game style would be better. To any Rioters that read this: Would it be a possible consideration to think about? Because it could work out with some testing.
