Champion Concept: Saain - The Rugged Hunter
Hello, I have recently come up with a champion idea, and cannot wait to share it with you all. Comment for anything, questions, encouragement, compliments, hate, whatever!( just be nice please) It is my first time posting a champion concept, so I am prone to make mistake, feel free to point them out. I am open to all comments. I am also bad at distance measuring....
Lore Saain Naisa was a Shuriman orphan, who was found and raised after Xe'rath's betrayal and Azir's fall. He originally was abandoned, his parents did not wish, nor able to raise him, left them in a tavern. Saain was brought to slavery for a few years, working and learning his way to survive within the scums of Shuriman lands, learning how to fight with only a knife and his keen eyes. He was handed over numerous slave owners, traveling through countless lands. He learned much from those lands, learning his cruelty and bravery from Noxus, survival instinct from the wild jungles, the freezing Freljord, and the vicious sailors of Bilgewater. Though he was hardly ever properly taught how to survive, he thrived at analyzing other's behaviours, moods, emotions and habits, paired with his survival skills, Saain came back to the dark alleys of Shurima prepared, bringing terror to those who used to bring terror to others. Saain was not an experienced killer in quarrels and fights, however he used the best weapons he knew. By setting up environments which he used to draw fear out of his opponents, deploying traps that drains away their determination and courage, withering their mind and strength, by the time Saain appears in front of his enemies, they were too fearful to even made attempts to put up a fight to the seemingly helpless boy, desperately asking for his mercy, just to be finished off with no hesitation. His skills built a bloody reputation, and soon he was noticed by the officials of Shurima. He was brought forward to the force of order keepers of Shurima, where his abilities was taken to consideration, whether to keep his skills for the sake of Shurima, or must he be eliminated for his skills. The council feared him. His cold-hearted hunter side was a trouble to them, as it took much effort to contain him and his doing within the shadow of Shurima, that he was not to be forgiven for the lives he had taken, yet his skills were precious to any force of army. He thrives in tracking enemies, hunting any targets, while independently cripples large masses of opponents. In the end, he was accepted to a noble family, who raised him only a few years before the chaos of Shuriman emperor's fall crumbled their name and wealth. They hoped the teaching of proper Shuriman ways would help him become their men, yet the falling of Shurima cut him loose. Within the midst of chaos, Saain stole some fortune from the noble's house, before disappearing in a moonless night, leaving behind the family of the noble mostly murdered mysteriously, and their daughter vanished. Saain then traveled around Runeterra, becoming a well-known bounty hunter, taking the top-tier lists of targets, cutting heads of the worst enemies that other bounty hunters could not take, relentlessly tracking and hunting down criminals who were able to dodge the keenest eyes. He found most of his gears during such hunts, acquiring Severer, a customized pistol, capable of firing bolts of enchanted steel, which prevents the healing of its wounds, found upon the execution of a Bilgewater pirate captain; Lune, a hook and chain which was said to be modeled after what Thresh wields, and while it was not capable of catching souls, its sharpened hook could be used both for movement within terrains, and for catching up with fleeing enemies.
**Role ** Assassin/Bruiser. I am not so sure where he could fit the best. Base Stats Health: 625 (+75.5) Health regen: 5 (+.8) Mana: 365 (+30) Mana regen: 6.5 (+.7) AD: 68 (+5) AS: 0.68 (+3.5) Amor: 40 (+2) MR: 32 (+3) MS: 330
Abilities Passive: Bounty for Their Head. [Debts Non-Believer] Saain cannot enter debt. If he runs out of gold or in debt, he cannot purchase any items until he get rids of the debt and acquire sufficient gold. **[Bounty for Their Head]**Upon starting the game, Saain chooses an enemy for his bounty, marking them with [Bounty for the Hunter]. If Saain successfully take down the enemy with bounty, he gains an extra 150/250/350 (increasing at level 6/11/18) (gold amount can be tweaked for balance) plus 50% of their current bounty gold (from kill and farm). If Saain fails, he loses the amount of gold he will acquire if he succeed, and cannot issue another [Bounty for Their Head] within 3 minutes (time can be tweaked).
*Saain cannot use the same champion for the bounty within 3 hunts.
Q- Point-Blank Shot Passive [Make it a Challenge] Saain cannot apply Grievous Wound damage. If he gains Grievous Wound effects, they are instead converted to life steal. Active Saain fires a shot in a narrow, straight direction(1200 distance), dealing 110/120/130/140/150/160 (+115% AD). The shot's damage increases by 25-30% if shot within 500/550/600 distance from the enemy. If the shot kills a target on its way, it will pierce enemies behind, dealing the increased damage regardless of distance, as well as applying a bleed (15/20/30/40/50/60 +90% of Saain's AP) over 3 seconds. CD: 5s. Mana cost: 40/38/36/34/32/30 mana.
W- Don't You Run Active Saain drops a trap on the ground, which becomes invisible after deployment. The trap has 3 health against enemies, can be attacked by any enemies, or 1 health against Saain. Saain's Point-Blank Shot can also attack the trap. If the trap is activated by being stepped on, it would detonate, causing enemies around it (150 distance) (can be balanced in distance) bleed (20/30/40/50/60 +90% of Saain's AP) over 2 seconds, and reveal their location for the next 3 seconds. If Saain destroy the trap by himself, it affects an area of 200 distance, dealing and instead of causing bleed, it slows for 50%, and mark the enemies with [The One], which for 3 seconds. Saain's damage from all source is increased by 20-25% against marked enemies. Traps have 60 distance of vision, and last for 1min30s. Saain can have up to 4 traps at the same time, and can have 10 active. CD Active: 10s. CD recharge: 15/13/11s.
E- Lune! Passive If Saain is within line of sight from bounty marked enemies, he gains 20% movement speed. Active Saain throws Lune forward for 600/700/800. If used against terrains/wards/, Lune pulls Saain forward 75% of the distance, reducing CD by 30%. If Lune is thrown at an enemy, it latches onto the enemy, dealing 40/60/80/100/120/140 AD +90% AD. Within the next 1s Saain slows the enemy with 30-55% slow over the duration:
-
If Saain stays within 1000 distance range, he can reactivate E to pull himself 80% towards the enemy, and if Saain successfully damage the enemy with 3 auto attack and ability, will cause them to take an additional 20% damage of the damage he deals within the three attacks.
-
[Trade Off] Saain's pull towards the enemy gains him extra Tenacity and slow immunity, however damages directed at him are 25% more effective. This effect lasts 3s
-
If Saain leaves the range, he rips Lune back, slightly pulling them back for 50 distance, and the slow is extended for 1.5s, applying bleed (15/20/30/40/50/60 +90% of Saain's AP) for 2s.
CD: 13/12/11/10/9/8s Mana cost: 40 mana.
R- Track Them Down [Track Them Down] is unlocked from Level 1, and only has 1 rank. Saain's tracking skill allows him to see tracks left behind from enemies.
-
Tracks appears as footprints/claw marks/animal tracks (varies from champions). Champions leave Tracks after themselves as they move around the map. These Tracks stay 20s after they were made. If a champion steps on these marks again, the new ones overwrite the old ones.
Saain can analyze these Tracks in 0.8s, revealing their current location (not their actual vision, but only their position). The position reveal lingers for 5s, tracing the enemy movement, and highlight their recent path within 20s. -
[Found you] If an enemy under tracking effect is found by any ally champion or Saain himself, they endure a 10% increase in damage inflicted by Saain and his allies for 10s after they are found. Found you can only be activated if the enemy whose Tracks was exposed is found within 10s of being tracked.
-
[Experienced Prey] Champions who were tracked recently cannot be tracked again immediately. Saain must track another champion, or wait for 1 minute before he can track the champion again.
CD: 30s Mana Cost: 40 mana.
Saain's gameplay is focused on control over the enemy champions (mostly junglers and roamers, such as supports or midlaners), tracking their movement and prepare traps to slow them down, or causing them to turn back to avoid encountering Saain. Saain could also be a good laner. His basic combo can come from using E for slow and bleed, while doing a quick W-Q combo, guaranteeing damage bonus from Q, and another auto to activate E's passive. He is a rather risky pick, requiring much more thoughts and efforts. His passive causes him to be at risk of falling behind, however still rewards him handsomely if he succeeds his hunt.
Please do not hesitate to leave any comment for your thoughts. I do appreciate any possible thoughts on Saain! Thank you all.
