[Champion Concept] Beros the Indomitable Boatswain
I enjoy working on champion concepts so i decided to post some ideas i've been having on a new League champion by the name of Berros. Berros started as a nothing but a few interesting concepts that I threw onto a Bilgewater personality because in my humble opinion there is not enough pirate going on in this game. A few things that seemed missing in league to me precipitated his creation, 1: a champion 2:a champion who has tools Necessary to not only deal with the mobility creep but more importantly Exploit people's reliance on the mobility creep. 3:a champion who can stick to an enemy in spite of CC without loosing focus 4:a Character who can access the shop without returning to base 5:More pirates who do things
Now i admit that none of his kit is 100% my idea, nothing is created in a vacuum & all of his kit came from somewhere or was edited from something to be turned into a new & exciting kit that i hope people will love. Today (as in 4/21/17, international surprise drug test day) i will be giving a brief description of his appearance & then dive straight into his kit.(heh, dive, pirate)
Berros is exactly what a captain like Gangplank wants in a junior officer. Strong, professional, talented in both sailing & combat, and above all, relatively unambitious. Not through any idea of his own lack of importance but through Gangplank's (seeming) immortality. Berros is a Large Dark skinned man with a strong set jaw, intelligent eyes, & hair that has turned salt-&-pepper grey because of the constant salt air, cannon powder & stress of life on Pirate vessels. He wears(in his base skin at least) Tall leather boots, dark blue work pants (to hide the powder & tar that is part of life on a ship at sea) a short sleeve shirt with a high collar & a leather vest covered in black powder. His weapons are a Spiked gantlet on his right hand and a hooked boarding Axe in his left. The idea of his appearance is to convey a powerful man who's presence commands respect even among the oft violent denizens of Bilgewater regardless of whether they are actually under his command or not. On to his kit,
Stats: (if i missed any stats let me know i'll fix it. His stat load is based on the idea of him being a Fighter, a middle ground of Damage & survivablity) Health | 595 -- 2143 Attack Damage | 60 -- 141 Health Regen| 8.2 -- 19 Attack Speed | 0.78 Mana | 295 -- 900 Armor | 28.5 -- 71.7 Mana Regen | 7.5 -- 20.3 Magic Resist | 21 -- 49.8 Move Speed | 345
Passive: _Smugglers Mortar: _ [cooldown: 20 sec/ 90 sec if barrel destroyed before he can retrieve it]When at the Shop Berros can mark an item to have it loaded into a Mortar that is placed near the shrine at the beginning of the game. He may trigger his passive to have the mortar fire(with an animation for allies telling them where it will land. Enemies with sight on him see him fire a signal flare & all players hear the launch) a barrel with the item in it to one of 6 locations on the map. the Barrel arrives after 4 seconds & upon right clicking it he is charged the requisite gold & receives the item. The barrel has 3 health & if an enemy gets to it first the passive goes onto a 90 second cooldown before it can be triggered again. In order to change items or mark another item he must return to the Shop & cannot mark new items while the passive is on cooldown. Wards that are purchased this way are placed immediately upon "delivery" & do not consume the mark in the shop. If he marks a smaller item he can mark it's components or the final item next time he goes back, if he marks a complete item he must have all of the gold required for its purchase to retrieve the item. locations map
2nd Passive: Greedy Inspiration A good pirate officer makes sure his crew gets every bit o' swag they can get. When within 1400 range of an enemy minion a champion did not last hit they drop a coin purse, if Berros walks over it he gains 50% last hit gold for killing that minion; if an enemy champion walks of it it is destroyed.
Q ability:Pincer Grip [Mana cost:45 cooldown 15 sec] Berros dashes forward {range: 550} if he collides with an enemy champion he uses his clawed gauntlet to set his grip & becomes latched to the enemy champion for 2.5 seconds, dealing 45+50/55/60/65/75% of bonusAD on impact & slowing the enemy by 35% while latched. While latched he follows the enemy movements automatically & and the enemy cannot Dash or Jump, if he takes 3/5/8/10/15% of his bonus damage the enemy is released. Both can still attack & cast non dash/jump abilities
W ability Smoke&Flame[mana cost:8 Mana/sec] Berros ignites the black powder covering his vest. While activated his attacks & abilities do an additional 35/40/45/50/55% bonus AD & he creates an area of Haze around himself preventing vision into the area.
E abilityBident Sweep[Mana Cost:40/45/50/55/60;Cooldown: 9 sec] Berros sweeps his Bident in an arc in target direction, dealing 100/105/115/125/135% total AD to the first target hit & 65/70/75/80/85% total AD to all others, If this attack connects with a moving enemy champion they are stunned for 1.25 seconds
Ultimates:(yes i said ultimateS) His ultimate depends on which of his abilities he cast prior and each have different functions, cooldowns, & Mana-costs associated with them. .
Ulti 1 tied to Q Carve it Myself[Mana Cost:120; Cooldown:120/105/90] Berros Rips away whatever flesh his spiked gantlet is gripping dealing 100/165/295 + 18/24/36% of their missing health as Physical Damage, If this ability kills an enemy champion Berros' ultimate's cooldown is reset.
Ulti 2 Tied to W Broadside[Mana cost:85/105/125; Cooldown:75 sec; Range: 750] Berros Dashes forward knocking aside & igniting minions If he collides with an enemy he stops dealing 100/150/200 damage & igniting them for 3 seconds. Ignited targets take 10% max heath damage
Ulti 3 tied to E Work Shantie[Mana Cost:15/30/45 per sec Cooldown:30/40/50 Sec; Range: 1000] Berros begins to Sing a familar work song to push his allies to fight harder and more easily ignore pain. Allied minions gain 10% bonus damage to structures & allied champions gain 30/40/50% of Berros bonus attack damage as Bonus damage & reduce incoming damage by 5% while in range
/kit Thanks for reading my champion. I'll keep working on him, checking suggestions both here & on /lolchampconcepts, editing him to try & balance him or make his kit more cohesive to Bilgewater and the piratey concepts. I'm also going to keep adding more Fluff. Voicelines, stories, and perhaps(if someone better than me can draw him) some pictures. Oh B T Dubs, if any Rioters are reading i hereby release this champion concept so it can legally be used by riot games in whole or in part within the confines of the League of Legends game that is their property... Particularly if they let me help on the lore & build if they decide to push him out. [slayer-jinx-wink]
