Will the next new champ be a support?

Its been a while since the last support was released, over a year, 8 champs ago, if you count Tahm, whose has been nerfed out of viability in solo que. Coming up to two years, 10 champs ago, since bard came out.

I know you guys don't focus on releasing an even amount of champs for each role but base it on which roles you have good ideas for, but I just can't wait as Bard, Braum and Thresh are some of the best supports and I could really see that Aurelion Sol could have easily become a support too (change passive to only affect champion and other small adjustments to compensate). I just hope you guys don't overlook support like most other people on the rift, keep up the good work [slayer-jinx-wink]

I hope it is not the nurturing type, we need more thresh like support they ain't now hero or something like that they some rugged, tough or something like that but still in the support role.

I honestly don't mind on their theme so much, although a darker theme would be nice, but yeah I agree a support with mechanics as interesting and complex as Thresh would be cool.

well Ivern I think counted as a support because he is a support-jungle so ya

but he still is the friendly type, I mean he was once Ivern the ruthless or something like that but he currently is the the green father friendliest guy on the block.

I was thinking someone like. Aatrox a lot of people were excited because his lore say he empower his ally and people though he was a support he would been the first "badass" support character.

I mean we do have a strong man for a support in Braum but he lack that gruff a darker type support who isn't gonna play nice.

This is true. Ivern was considered a support champion who played in the jungle. So OP, you don't want a new support champion, you specifically want a new Bot lane support champion.

Yes, although I haven't actually tried Ivern yet so I may give him a go. I feel like if Riot is viewing releasing Ivern as releasing a support this is a bit off a cop out as he is primarily a jungler and isn't viable in the support role, but I agree he has a supportive playstyle

When people say they want a new support champion, it's pretty obvious they're talking about "bot lane support champion".

Also the support champion pool is smaller than other roles (around 20 or so champions not counting ap mid laners), which is around, 14.9%, as opposed to the 20% it should be, obviously there may be other reasons for this but still, salty support main would like to be salty :P

I kinda want a Void support. Yeah, Malzahar is a thing in the support role now, but let's face it, he was made for mid like or Zyra . I want a Void support that is actually meant for the support role.
