Choosing which champion to buy

Hi everyone, I am now lvl 30, and I would like to choose a champion that I main in ranked. I had played many games top, so I think I will probaly stick to top, and I love bruisers. This is my understanding of bruisers : when abilities not on cool down, they are assassins, when abilities are on cooldown, they are fighters, they must be tanky at all times but even tankier with abilities, they must be mobile, or anti-gank, have to have hard CC. So I would say jax, xin zhao, and trundle is pretty good to me, but then lately I've been finding that it is hard to win lane at early game, because I don't have a poke, so I would like you guys to suggest me a bruiser champion with poke.
