Why does Kog'Maw look absolutely nothing like his new art work?

Kog'Maw's new artwork is amazing!! And I honestly actually wanted to buy this champ when his new art came out just because its so freaking adorable, but his actual in game skin looks absolutely nothing like it....it just looks really weird. what are people's thoughts?

Could Riot make Kog's original skin look more insect-like / have the same brown color and shell that the new artwork has?

They update splashes (first) because it is easier and quicker to push out then in game skins. I am sure as time goes on in game skins will be updated to more closely reflect the splash art updates.

Same goes for Cho'Gath with his new splash. They don't look much alike. Splash Cho looks terrifying while In-Game Cho looks like he could be a kid's plastic happy meal toy.

A vast majority of old champions with new splashes do not resemble do not resemble their ingame models still. Its a lot easier to release splash art rather than a whole new model.

I agree, I love the new splash art for a lot of champs, and I hope when they continue to roll out visual updates for the champion models they look more like the new splash art. Cho'gath especially, that splash art is awesome

Because Kog's model is several years old and the splash is several months old. See Also: Gragas, Kassadin, Mordekaiser, Cho'Gath
