If thee ever spots the Wretch of Demacia, do not hesitate to kill him, lest ye face the demon queen. - Annullers of Demacia

**Bio **

Demacia's adverseness to magic allowed otherwise cruel behavior to be disguised as necessary measures for safety. Quasi was left to the Annullers as a baby once his disposition in magic was revealed. Growing up in the far slums of Demacia with the rest of Demacia's unwanted, the Annullers took extra care in making Quasi's life hell. Quasi was the youngest magic user revealed in Demacia, allowing the Annullers to torture and experiment under the pretext of learning early detection techniques. Nevertheless, Quasi did not view the Annullers as evil, as he was naught but a waif that needed tempering. His twisted idolization of the Annullers turned into an obsession to become a knight of Demacia. Quasi assisted his fellow slum denizens with 'quests' between the Annullers' torture sessions, but the denizen's situation didn't lend itself well to responding to Quasi's kindness in kind. Quasi's spirit slowly broke as his body grew more and more deformed under the Annullers, but he refused to lose his smile. The Annullers redoubled their efforts, Quasi's stone-face smile feeding their justification of his treatment; however, one day the Annullers had a new charge given.

Demacia's warriors had destroyed a cult worshiping an ancient weapon as a goddess, the weapon itself being an indestructible tool of magic. The Annullers were presented a broken spear and tasked with destroying it once and for all. Quasi became an afterthought as the Annullers focused on the mysterious spear. A small kindness of fate, but Quasi's twisted ideas granted him his first feeling of being abandoned. For the first time in his life, Quasi was unwanted and ignored by those he idolized. He grew fearful, the 'love' he knew had been taken away by this spear. Quasi soon became increasingly desperate for attention, helping the ungrateful Annullers any way he could to speed their research for the spears destruction. Quasi's unstable mental state led to him hearing a voice muttering in the back of his mind. The voice gained notice of Quasi, constantly calling Quasi's name as he tried to sleep. Quasi finally broke down and responded to the voice, causing him to reel as his mind connected to the space the voice inhabited.

Upon opening his eyes, Quasi found himself alone in a dark void as an astral entity. The voice beckoned him to find her. He followed the voice deeper and deeper into the astral plane. Her voice grew louder the further he went in, with Quasi's own thoughts being drowned out in favor of the queen's. Quasi absorbed every word attentively, never asking questions as ventured deeper into the astral nether. She spoke of her past life, as a warrior defending the weak and downtrodden. An unwavering pride laden her voice, turning to immense anger as she began speaking of her pain, sacrifice, and betrayal. Quasi's fear of her anger melted away as the voice began speaking of her desire to meet Quasi. Her voice was tender and kind, something Quasi had never experienced. The queen told Quasi she had been waiting a millennia to meet him. Quasi's heart stopped when the Queen gave him her proposal; become her champion. Quasi had no hesitation and agreed to become the queen's knight. An entity rose from the nether before him. Finally Quasi laid eyes on his queen, a godlike owl queen clad in a robe of feathers and wielding a broken staff. Quasi kneeled before his queen and found immeasurable joy as she ceremoniously knighted Quasi into her service. She extended her disfigured hand out to Quasi, Quasi responding in kind. Upon grasping the queens hand he awoke with fright to see his hand extending into a portal, grasping the broken spear deep within the Annullers sanctuary.

The portal quickly began destabilizing, forcing Quasi to pull his arm out with the spear in hand. Quasi's smile disappeared into the nether. Had he been tricked into making a pact with a demon? The Darkin inhabiting the spear assured him she had not lied to him. She was going to be his queen, and Quasi would help her repay the transgressions against her. Quasi ran to the Annuller's sanctuary, desperately trying to ignore the pleas of the Darkin. The Annullers captured Quasi as he attempted to return the spear, accusing his soul of finally being corrupted with the help of the spears power. Immediately beaten to near death by those he viewed as family, the head Annuller handed down summary execution to Quasi. The Darkin pleaded with Quasi. Had he been taught to not value his own life? She promised to give Quasi a purpose and new life, but he needed to let her save him. Broken and bleeding, Quasi yielded and the broken spear appeared in his hand. The spear glowed, summoning the nether and swallowing Quasi into its darkness. The queen appeared out of the void, immediately killing the head Annuller, crushing his heart in her claws. The Darkin laid a path of destruction out of the Demacia slum, killing all those who opposed her, using their life force as fuel to keep her existence in the mortal plane. Her warpath ended in the desolate wasteland, her energy and form dissipating to safely release Quasi from the nether.

Quasi's mind was shattered, naught from the Darkin, but from his own worldview being destroyed in a single night. His mind began piecing itself back together, his twisted ideas of love and knighthood battling his view of evil and magic. Soon he reached an equilibrium for his own sanity. For him to clutch onto his ever fleeting life, he needed the queen until he grew strong enough to defend himself. He had to learn to ignore how hypocritical he was becoming. Quasi's mind molded itself to fit his part, becoming the Darkin's ever faithful knight and champion. The two began their new relationship, always aware they would discard the other once their purpose was finished. The Darkin began teaching Quasi, with Quasi filling in any gaps of conduct with his new code of knighthood. The Darkin became frustrated quickly with Quasi refusing to kill any enemy he faced due to his code. The Darkin would force Quasi to use his growing power to summon her, laying waste to those that threatened Quasi's life. Continuously this happened, until Quasi began unconsciously summoning the Darkin before she demanded to. The Darkin grew ever confused of Quasi's mental state, being fearful she had broken her only hope for revenge. Feelings she had locked deep inside long ago began surfacing. To become an Ascended Warrior she had to give any chance of motherhood away, but a new proxy in this boy stirred her feelings of maternal love. The Darkin was aghast. She believed she would never have those feelings again, let alone for what she initially viewed as a tool. The Darkin knew what her ultimate revenge would require, and those feelings were naught but a liability. As her love grew, so did Quasi's love for her. The genuine love of a mother was new, and Quasi desired more. His mind shifted more to allow this desire to not contradict his goals; however, as he slowly gleaned her ultimate goal he knew those desires would have to clash. Neither knew what they would choose once the moment arrived, only that secretly deep in their hearts they wished the journey would be a long one.

Skills - Big Ol WIP

Innate : Duality

Kindness - Quasi is incapable of killing an enemy champion. Quasi must summon Athena to finish enemies; however, the more Quasi fights and damages enemy champions before they die grants additional kill EXP.

Borrowed Time - To summon Athena, Quasi must deal or take damage from enemy champions. Damage is transferred into potential time for Athena to grace the battlefield. Quasi must generate a minimum amount of time before R - Dimensional Pierce becomes usable. In addition, once Athena is summoned she can use the pool of time accumulated to forcefully cast any basic spell on cool down. Quasi and Athena share all stats and cool downs, but their basic spells slightly differ. Quasi is melee, Athena is ranged.

R : Dimensional Pierce

Passive - Increases Damage -> Time Conversion with each level.

Active - Quasi grasps the broken spear, entering into stasis and slowing all enemies around him by a percentage of their missing health. After a second, a nether zone appears and Athena replaces Quasi. Athena is granted a shield based off how much Borrowed Time Quasi generates. Athena is greatly slowed and loses Borrowed Time at a greater rate if she leaves the nether zone. Once Athena runs out of Borrowed Time she will disappear after a second. Athena can delay this by successfully killing enemy champions with R2 : Heartpiercer.

R2 : Heartpiercer

Active - Athena extends her hand from herself after a short delay, in an attempt to kill the first enemy champion it contacts. If this kills the enemy champion, Athena adds the minimum amount of Borrowed Time to the timer and adds another charge of R2 : Heartpiercer. Enemies killed this way generate an additional nether zone for Athena to walk on.

Q : Portal Toss

Active - Quasi dashes forward, pushing the first enemy champion hit through a portal. After a short delay the enemy drops from the sky in a semi-random location around the original toss. Enemies only take damage upon landing.

Q2 : Falling Down

Active - Athena summons a large portal on the ground that lingers. The second activation of Falling Down generates the exit and activates the portal. Enemies that fall into the entrance enter become untargetable for one second and exit out of the second portal. Enemies take massive damage upon landing. There is no limit to how many times an enemy can fall through a single portal, but there is a minimum distance for the second portal and the cool down does not begin until the portal dissipates. Athena can use the portal without taking damage.

W : Hands of Fate

Passive - Quasi will automatically 'catch' any nearby airborne champions, smashing them into the ground. Quasi deals extra damage and briefly snares enemies hit by Hands of Fate. There is a minimum cool down between 'catches'.

Active - Quasi attempts to send the next spell that hits him to the nether (Spell Shield). Spells absorbed this way completely disappear. Any potential damage negated by this spell is considered damage taken for Borrowed Time.

W2 : Nullify

Active - Athena creates a wall of nether energy. Enemies that attempt to dash through the wall will 'bounce' off for the remaining dash distance and take damage. Enemies can walk through the wall. Athena can only create the wall on a nether zone. Athena will bounce off the wall for no damage if she attempts to dash through it.

E : Justice Crash

Active - Quasi falls into a portal, becoming briefly untargetable. He then arrives at target location, dealing damage to all enemies and slowing them. Succesfully hitting enemies grants Quasi a short attack speed buff.

E2 : Athena's Clutches

Active - Athena dashes in target direction, grabbing the first enemy champion hit and tossing them a flat distance towards the closest nether zone center. While dashing Athena will interact with Q2: Falling Down and W2: Nullify. Doing so refreshes the dash distance.

Author's Notes

6/27 - Wanted to create a twisted relationship between a Darkin and human that differs greatly from the others. I feel like parents are under represented in League tbh, and wanted to create a weird adopted relationship where both parties understood the pretext but took that to create something both wanted. Might add in VO quotes later if I feel like it, but I think my poor Bio gives enough of the characterization I was looking for. Inspirations I used while making this :

Kuro (Ori and the Blind Forest) Guernica (Brand New - Deja Entendu) Quasimodo (Hunchback of Notre Dame) Portal Gun (Portal 1&2) Okuyasu Nijimura (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure : Diamond is Unbreakable)

Recently read a manga titled Made in Abyss, and boy is that dark. I would never recommend it even though I find it well written. One of the characters was pretty much how I imagined Athena to act. Ozen the Immovable is scary, dark, and ruthless but with enough backstory and compassion to have sympathy for her. She hunches over, hiding her deformed body with a cloak and her hair. Surprised how close I visually imagine Athena to carry herself.

Once I have some time I hope to write a short story, to try and help flesh the two out a little more. Been seeing posts talking about people wanting the female Darkin being different then the traditional ones, hoping to see if I can pull that off, even if just a little :P

Hoping some people put some input, not really sold on the abilities I came up with.
