Why I'm done buying skins

It's simple: my content can drastically change. Before the Fiora VU I had no problem spending real money on RP. I work hard enough to afford skins so I like to buy them. But it is digital content and I'm someone who likes to know my hard-earned money is spent on lasting investments. I never felt cheated or tricked by my purchases with Riot. I've been buying skins for years. But today despite really wanting to buy the Zac chroma I didn't buy it. I couldn't bring myself to do it.

What if Zac gets a VU in a year because Riot doesn't think that he's jell-o enough. So they release his new VU and some people like it and some people don't. Lets say this hypothetical situation goes better than the Fiora VU and the community is split 50/50. And, hypothetically, I'm not one of the people who likes the new visual update. So now, all of a sudden, my purchased content that I spent my hard-earned money on is useless and I'm down the cost of a chroma pack (a little less than $5 I believe).

I guess these drastic changes have always been possible with LoL, I just usually trusted Riot wouldn't mess it up so bad. But now I'm not so sure. I didn't get anything for my money spent on skins after the Fiora VU except a champion and skins that I don't like. Are there any other champs I main that Riot plans on drastically changing? Idk. Maybe. I can't be the only one who is now concerned with what direction Riot is going to be taking with future visual reworks/updates. My money just isn't worth risking on changing content when I feel like even after massive negative fan feedback the change is pushed out anyway. How can I trust a company that doesn't trust it's fans? I can't. I can't trust that Riot won't drastically change another champ.

P.s. - "drastically change" = get the Fiora treatment

P.s.s. - I understand the ToS and how the rights to content work. It doesn't make what happened and what may happen again an okay thing to do (in my mind).

Yes, a refund on my Royal Guard Fiora would be nice. This isn't the skin I bought.

you purchase in game content for an online game.

dont expect ti to be there forever.

it can change just as easily as shut down.

And this is entirely fair.

well you may not like something but i do not believe this is the board for this disussion... not only that but you are one person and let me tell you just because things change does not make them bad they just mean you have to change too.

Maybe instead of crying like a child you should try doing an adult action like posting a fix that Riot will accept or at least give a detailed post of what is wrong. Just saying drastically changed or everything looks awful won't get it fixed. In fact it might make Riot stop updating champions and champion who need these updates will never get them.

While you are at it why dont you stop buying champions too because they will get updated too.

The world advances and changes so too must its products. Would you go to the same store every day and expect things not to change? Would you really want that? every day it is the same people in line every day it is the same person at the register every day it is the same items on the menu? If so and you went there every day like how people play league every single day and nothing changed wouldnt it get a bit boring or dull? Not only that but you would also see one champion or another dominate every game... and it would always be the same ones.. The game would no longer be the diverse game league is today... it would in fact be a game of who counters who the best. would your really want that? Without change weather it be champion updates item changes or even the addition of mark/dash in aram the game would be boring... Without these updates there would not be new champions or power changes. Fiora needed a slight update to compare to new champs and give her some diversity in her kit as well as provide the kind of champ diversity needed for things like competitions as well as providing her with a clear identity. Just because you dont like the way she looks now I think there is a classic skin available.

When you purchase a skin (or music from I-Tunes) it is not yours. You're just asking for permission to use their product. Personally I don't buy skins anymore because I have better things to spend my money on, but to each their own.

So you purchased a non physical product from a gaming company who desires to increase what is, in their mind, player experience by updating older content for free and the expectation was you would not ever have something updated?

You didn't buy champions or skins. You bought the right to use them which is why if riot decided to delete the entire game tomorrow all that money you spent is gone.
