Content Deleted / Wrong Category?

Riot has advised me to give feedback for their boards, so here it goes.

I had posted something in Report a Bug; it was about the Public Beta Environment and how my download speed was slow. Thinking about it now, I know that was the wrong category to put that in and I realized my mistake once I received a message notifying me that my content was deleted. ...but, did it really have to be deleted? Couldn't it just be moved to the appropriate category instead of wiped off the face of the boards? Er, better yet, you could give me the post back in my message so that I can copy what I wrote and post it appropriately.

I mean, there's no possible way it could have been a toxic post, it specifically talks about my PBE download and how it's taking a long time. There were paragraphs upon paragraphs of my download speeds, how I've down steps to take out some processes to speed it up, et cetera. Unless, of course, they don't read the posts upon deletion, which would just further my irritation. I'm not trying to be rude, but one could empathize with the fact that I wrote a very long post about something, accidentally put it in the wrong category, and it immediately gets deleted without warning, or without giving me the chance to copy my post and put it somewhere appropriate.

Here's my feedback:

  • Actually read the posts that are (potentially) in the wrong category.
  • If the post is not in the right category, move it to the appropriate location.
  • Send a message to the person who posted the thread to choose the appropriate destination next time.

A couple things:

  • First off, I agree with you that simply deleting your content sucks.
  • Second, the message you got with the deletion should have said why it was deleted. If it was because of the wrong category (which I would guess it was), then it wasn't because you were being toxic, so that's good :)
  • Third, you can actually see your post! It might be a little difficult, but if you can find the link to your post, you (and only you) can see it, so you can copy it into a new thread (this is something that I think riot should link in the message you receive).
