So, let me get this straight...You don't want to fix the existing forums?

A quote from Montag:

"Even though it might seem like baby steps on the surface, the major steps have been foundational.

Because of the size of the LoL community, vBulletin had serious scale issues that made it virtually impossible for us to develop for it. As PD mentioned in his opening post, adding many of the things players have asked for would have required virtually re-writing the entire vBulletin platform. So, rather than spend all that time and do a few incremental things we decided to take a step back, think about discussions as a whole and do something that's both more forward-thinking and far more extensible than vBulletin."

Original post can be found here, because I'm not sure how quoting works here: http://community.na.leagueoflegends.com/c/beta-feedback/x2s5yJG4-why-do-you-keep-changing-the-layout-instead-of-doing-what-matters?comment=00000000

So...let me get this straight. The forums we already have are difficult to work with because of the scale of its use, and adding the improvements we've been asking for would be too much work.

So instead of doing all the work of fixing our existing forums...you guys are doing all the work of creating entirely new forums?

How is making all-new forums less work than fixing what we already have? And if, somehow, it actually IS less work, are you just shoving this down our throats so you guys can be lazy and just not give us what we've been asking for for YEARS?

I'm not normally this hateful. I'm just feeling pretty insulted right now, because we already said that we didn't want this. Why are you guys trying again?

I disagree about VB having scaling issues, there are massive forums out there that run off of VB.

Yeah, I think the real issue for them is that they took the good time to remove alot of the vbulletin features, now don't want to undo that work. vbulletin comes stock with alot of the features we have been asking for. My guess is they don't want to go get the newest vbulletin forums. I don't really blame them on that one, though,,,
