This is beautiful Riot! im a bit of a UI/UX Junkie and this new board is gorgeous! What part of the Riot team made this? They should be worshiped! I am guessing post's from the older board wont be carried over?

Hey first thank you and we're glad you like the Boards! I was part of the team that designed and launched it though it's still a work in progress. We've really enjoyed working with the community to evolve and improve it and we hope to continue to do so.

Old posts were carried over from the previous 'Community Beta'.

The way it feels like reddit is pretty awesome! What was your overall goal for the new boards? And how did you come up with what is now the boards? I also am curious on how one would get a job on a team like yours at Riot?

I'll answer those questions as best I can:

A few goals were improving clarity, addition / updates to features that we had been discussing with the community and internally, bug fixes and rolling into this nice shiny new style.
The Boards were an evolution from the existing Community Beta. A lot of the framework and decisions for CB pre-date my time with the team so they can better speak to how it became what it is today. Pendragon has also shared these motivations for original CB in a couple places, if I can find those links I will edit and add a few.
Hiring at Riot is sometimes done based on a specific team need, others for a general need overall. I was hired as a UX Designer and landed with this team because my skill set and their need matched up. I also came from the Community before I worked at Riot so working with you guys on this kind of project was near to my heart.

Nice work, but the boards need a Lore discussion section now that the team is free to talk.

Stay tuned, we are looking at a few options right now and there will be some details about this soon.

I'm interested in seeing how a "Lore" section would turn out. I can't wait!

To be honest, I think that atleast the early use of it would be a ton of ¨Riot you ruined the lore¨ threads. Would be cool to see some proper discussions though, being from EUNE, any proper discussion is rare...

Yeah, that sounds about right....
