there needs to be some action taken by the developers in order to try to keep the community together and not segregate the community into groups.
Believe me, I've been trying to push this agenda for years. Riot's stance here is that they are spreading the role of community management across the entire company (in North America, at any rate), to in theory allow for more participation from Riot's end. This just doesn't seem to happen, and there are so many things that role does that can't just be stuck onto developers with other jobs.
They ask for feedback constantly on reddit which puzzles me as this is their own website which requires their own money to operate and maintain.
One of Riot's big philosophies is that Rioters can interact with the community however they choose, which I totally support. If for example Lyte hates the Boards but is really into reddit, it makes sense for him to have correspondence there as opposed to on the Boards.
That being said, it's a bit ridiculous to me that there is no centralized effort whatsoever to bring important conversation into a single place. Were you around when Tryndamere did a huge AMA on communication on reddit? Not a word of it was brought to the Boards until a bunch of pretty heavily supported threads popped up asking why nothing was mentioned on the Boards, and even then no one from Riot even linked the AMA.
I understand that there are lots of mediums to cater to, but it's quite frankly ridiculous that the official communication platform has no tools whatsoever for centralizing important discussion.
