Hey everyone!

We’re rolling out ranked season badges to the boards right now! Please be aware this can take a while because of the sheer number of players receiving them, but we’ll update this thread when we’ve finished. You’ll see your ranked badges for all seasons (not just the most recent) in your boards profile or when you hover over your name in the boards.

As a reminder, you’ll get a badge for each season you finished Gold or higher (except Season 2, where you had to be Platinum or higher).

Is there any way to look up someone's Season 3 rank? LoLNexus and LoLKing used to show that information, but no longer do; I was told that Riot's API had changed and that information had (apparently?) been erased, but if badges are being handed out then presumably it's available somewhere.

I'm not asking so that I can complain about my solo queue team being "Bronze baddies in S3". I'm asking mostly for Factions balancing and scoring purposes. (I did some stats on winrates of various ranked-tier matchups, e.g. how often a team of three Silvers and two Bronzes beats a team of five Bronzes, and we use that data to adjust how many points a faction gains from wins and loses from defeats. Obviously, if an all-Diamond Demacian team beats an all-Bronze Noxian team, it should be worth few if any points.) We had used the higher of S3 and S4 rank to balance Factions matches, which are organized as custom games, but we've been forced to switch to S4 only after the API change. It's kind of a problem, because there are some people who were highly ranked in S3 but didn't bother to play much Ranked in S4.

Any chance that the API will be updated to allow lookup of S3 rank again?

Unsure why this is being implemented as a "hover over" feature, rather than right below our Icon as was the case previously. Care to explain the reasoning behind that?
