Everytime I go to the old forums archive, match history, or anything starting with eu. I know I'm going to be logged out of the forums, and any attempts to log back in will get a "Unrecognized username or password" error, until I delete all LoL related cookies.
Very obnoxious.

I get a similar issue to OPs, if not the same. At random times, I come here and I'm not logged in, and when I try to, it keeps constantly telling me the CAPTCHA was wrong or my password was wrong after I've made sure I have them correct multiple times, until it finally just says "Internal server error" repeatedly. And then at random times, I come back here and it already has me logged in.
It's like the boards literally decide when I'm allowed to be logged in and when I'm not. I never realized it might be connected to visiting old forums though.
And I'm pretty sure my region setting hasn't changed.

I'll look out for it next time, and if I have a half hour to test things out, I might just induce the error, and see which cookie let's me back in, when it's deleted.

Not thinking to clear my cookies/cache, I just rebooted into the linux side of my computer, where I was still logged in. It also happened on my phone at around the same time (a couple weeks ago). Hasn't happened since, though, and I don't know how to reproduce, so I'm afraid I can't be of much help unless it happens again.

Right on. I know that certain kinds of server maintenance have impacted logins on the boards in the past, so that's one thing - and then the region setting can get changed if you visit another region's page. I'm going to explore some options. Thanks for all of the reports guys!
rastarogue1 votesLikely the logins only extend to a single domain na.leagueoflegends.com being different from euw.leagueoflegends.com. Given that the boards are now cross region we are seeing higher numbers of links that lead to different domains leading to people being logged in on one, logged out on another and then logged back in if they go back.
Possibly explore have a login extend across domains (time consuming and resource intensive) or adding a flag that goes up when you are signed out (extra time on page transition to check, possible higher server response time on page load) or store a cookie on the local machine that when you login is generated and is periodically updated every 5 minutes as long as you are logged in. If the user visits a page on a different domain check the cookie, if updated time<30 minutes ago, auto login on the new domain.

It happens both ways. Sometimes it just won't let me login. Period. Until I delete cookies.
Sometimes it just switches me to EUW or something. For no reason.

RiotEambo1 votesDefinitely some sort of cookie madness I think. I am an EUW player, but I'm posting here on the NA boards after logging in to EUW. However randomly it will give me a "login" option over here, but when I try to log in, it won't let me - says invalid user/password (I assume due to being an EUW account)
If I head back to EUW I'm still logged in, then head back here and voila, I'm logged in again. Very weird.

A good way to reproduce this is have the boards open in one tab, open another tab to the main page from another region, and then refresh the boards tab. Voila your region now reflects that of the main page you viewed!
I'm discussing with the team different ways to approach this. Thanks again everyone for the amazing feedback! I'll update you guys when I can get something tangible in my hands!

Not 100% sure if this'll help in any way, but often I get logged out if I'm looking at the boards archive. I then switch to my EUW tab (I have both EUW and NA forums open), and hit refresh, and then go back to the NA forums and hit refresh, and I'm logged back in. It's like something is knocking the cookie out, and a refresh of EUW is putting the cookie back in place. (mmm, cookies...)
Kat Head1 votesLOL, it has been this way since the destruction of the good forums. If you view anything out side of your region and then attempt to go back to the boards it changes your region. Change it back to NA and you will able to use the garbage forums again.
