We need to deal with downvote nuking, ESPECIALLY in Concepts & Creations.

So, I made a concept about an hour or two ago. You can see him here if you'd like.

Ten minutes ago, I looked at my concept and it had +3 upvotes. That's pretty good, right?

Ten minutes later I look back and it has -3, -4, -5, -7 downvotes.

I am not the first person that this has happened to.

Literally 75% of concepts (whether shitty or not) I've seen just get downtrodden within minutes-- hardly any time for enough people to look through it and actually downvote it with meaning. I've also noticed several people questioning alternate accounts, and seeing how fast it happens, it seems likely. That's seven downvotes on a concept within 10 minutes. Seven. That's practically unheard of.

Something really needs to be done about it, because it's very very upsetting to know that you've worked on a concept with all your heart for the last 3 days only for someone to spam downvotes on it. I'm not pointing my fingers at any specific individual, even if I have my suspicions, but I definitely think something needs to be done about it.

If people care about concepts and creations, they're going to give it a chance despite the downvotes if the premise looks promising.

Downvotes are just an expression of opinion. Sure, maybe cracking down on alt abuse would help and that would make sense, but overall there's not much to be done about actual downvotes. They shouldn't matter as much as you're making them out to be.

Does every concept thread deserve mass upvotes? No, no they don't. Not all threads are equal. Some people like some things, some people like other things. People are going to disagree with you and not like what you present.

I personally think they should remove downvotes. They serve no purpose. You can still gauge a popularity of a thread/post/comment by the number of upvotes. I see people downvote things because they don't like what it says or don't even take the time to actually read it. If they want to keep downvotes, then you should have to comment in order to cast either a down or upvote on thread. Sure some people will just spam nonsense but then they will get reported and banned and we didn't want them in our community anyway.

Honestly, they need to split Champion Ideas (portion no one cares about) from Skin Ideas (portion some people care about) and treat the Champion Ideas like GD, where it only shows up for people that care enough to visit it.
