You should add a "Viewed by Riot" icon next to posts you guys read

It would

  1. Stop people from saying you guys aren't active
  2. Make some people feel important 3)I can't think of another outcome, but three is the charm

Would be neat. ESPECIALLY FOR CHAMPION CONCEPTS

While of course you're welcome to believe me or no but champ concepts are looked at, but from a fellow player standpoint rather than a Red standpoint.

lol they dont want people to know they looked at posts they dont respond too... would show how lazy they actual are, or that they just dont care...

I think it would show the opposite, because you don't even have to view something at all. You can check the preview or ignore that altogether. If they actually take the time to read more than just the preview, then it shows almost as much effort as responding in my opinion.

You're actually directly representing a fundamental obstacle for this, there are people like you who would be content with it being read and not commented on. However there are people just like Best jinx B5 who aren't happy with simply being read and will get even more upset at being 'passed over'.

As for the idea overall you also run into problems such as whether or not to identify the Rioter reading, because Riot Sweet (Boards Team) looking over a balance post won't accomplish much but we can't tell her where she can and can't look. And of course there's the thought of if they wanted to be seen as 'having read it' without putting any additional input into the post why not just comment with "Noted" or some such?

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea's direction and your intention is good I just usually play devil's advocate for this idea (It has been suggested several times over the last year)

This is sort of where I stand to be honest. I'd personally love to add it and I get excited at the idea - but ultimately it has a very real risk of causing more harm than good. As a player, if I were to post something that I'm expecting feedback on and see that the thread has been seen I'll end up feeling even more ignored (and that's dangerous).

As stated here, sometimes Rioters will browse topics that aren't relevant to their specialization and so they can't realistically comment on every post. I really don't want to cause, say, the art team extra headache simply because I wanted to view what people are talking about :(

and this is why I like my "fist bump" special upvote idea.

Rioters would now be able to vote normally, or press the "fist bump" icon to let players know that not only has the post been read, but the rioter in question really liked/agrees/supports the subject matter of said post.

The opt in nature would help to alleviate some of the feelings of being "passed over" by giving the player a cool fist bump logo/border that shows support while indicating that a rioter has been reading in the general vicinity. (just like replies do currently)

As long as it is clearly explained as "a rioter really likes this post. here, have a cookie" and not "this post is now law" I think it'd be a great aid to rioters interacting with the community.

TY for the reply :D

I don't think it should show which Rioter in particular has seen it, that wouldn't be right, If they wanted people to see they would probably comment. I understand that some people will feel ignored by just being seen, but I really don't understand why. I could understand how it would make the people who don't even get viewed feel ignored, but if you got viewed, to me that signifies that you have been noticed.

Especially for things were people post their opinions (like every post on this site except ones riot makes themselves), I would think that people would be happy a Rioter has come across the opinion, and taken enough time to read it. but maybe this is just me.

Eh I look at New not Recent so this was still new to me. And isn't that the point of Recent anyway? Mitigating the effect of posts getting buried by the other systems like voting and time?
