A bump post should not be counted as spam

This is referring to the team recruitment section.

So earlier today someone had gone through and reported all the bumps in my post for team recruitment, and then they reported someone else' bumps in my board. the term Bump should not be a report-able phrase as Spam because it is how we Bring up our post so people can see that it is still active rather than dead.

It may be a habit of forum users to report as spam(or at least report to mods) as a lot of boards frown upon double posting and bumping. Maybe I am totally off on this. Anyway your reports are looked at and if for some reason you do get suspended have a moderator look into it and they will see you did nothing wrong so you'll be fine.

I feel like this is going to come across as rude no matter how I say it, so I apologize.

To me, bumps are spam. They show that one person is interested in talking more about the thread, but one person doesn't make a conversation. In a perfect world, if it's just you bumping, that means you're the only one interested in talking about it... so let it go. If other people are bumping your thread, why aren't they just discussing, instead?

That being said, as someone who creates threads regularly, I totally understand that it's frustrating not to get traffic. The feeling of, "I know some people are interested in this thread, but they just haven't seen it yet because of that one early downvote." At the same time, I don't want one-word comments clogging up my threads, or threads I'm reading. That's why I think a bump button should be added. Here is an old thread of mine. It's a little outdated since this was before we had different sorting methods; if I were going to re-do it now, I wouldn't have the separate listing of bumped threads, I'd just increase a thread's visibility and add a bump counter at the bottom of each post.

A more elegant solution is what RuneScape's forums have - they have a "bump" button beside reply/quote etc., which can only be used once every 10 minutes on a thread. On the LoL forums I'd say once every hour would suffice. This bumps the post to the top without putting an extra "spammy" post in.
