the new boards look and feel like shit

i know that riot has a huge hard-on for reddit for some unclear for me reason and always cared of their opinion more than of the opinion of their own forums, who were more active than lol reddit too, but it doesn't mean they should try to copy their design. this fork system isn't reddit's invention, it's how the first web forums worked before phbb-like ones got popular and it always was and is very inconvenient. right now it's not only unclear what's the difference between hot, new and recent, but also it's barely readable in the only order which matters, in the chronological order, because i see a lot of messages not seeing to whom they answered (on the old forums those would be with a quote, nowadays they don't bother to quote because for them it's directly under, in the default mode) and had to switch to this default show me first those comments which licked the penis of community enough to get the higher karma mode (i bet you cannot decipher this phrase tho). i don't care what comments other people consider important, i don't want to follow these forks too, i want to read them chronologically not being lost in seemingly random comments, at least make a link which will show the preview of the post to which the comment was answered

So I took the salt from your post and sorted it into piles here are the results:

This board tries to be two things and fails at both. It's a nice metaphor for what riot is trying to do with their game now.

You got chronological where you don't know what the fuck is going on because it apparently takes a year to code in an auto quote reply feature for that format.

And the reddit view, where you get to see who the biggest bootlicker is and nothing else. It's garbage.

Plus it's fuckin early access trash because the to do list is taller than the empire state building and they have like one person working on it. Everyone just pretends it's fine because the shitty reddit culture has invaded, where any dissenting opinion is just neg atted out of existence.

You can change the view style if you want. Right above this area I'm typing is a spot that says "SWITCH TO CHRONOLOGICAL VIEW".

well, may be i was too annoyed that day, anyway i have 2 constructive ideas:

  1. the auto link to the replied post when you reply without quoting (pretty much how it works on imageboards like 4chan where they have >>number of the post to understand to whom the reply was), it's a pretty obvious solution and i'm surprised they did nothing about it, it should be like several lines of code to introduce

  2. a switchable alternative color scheme because the current dark and low contrast one is eye straining, at least for some people, it's as simple as add a single css

You may prefer the old style, but this one is more efficient overall.

no, it's pretty inconvenient for any serious and long lasting dicsussion also, obviously, till they add a link to show to what post a reply was made, chronological view will be less 'efficient'

Lastly, you make it sound like you've spent a lot of time on forums, yet you gave us a wall of text. Which is a forum no-no if you want anyone to take the time and read it.

do you mistake forums with twitter or what. btw your post is barely shorter than mine
