Your local friendly Baconhawk here! We’ve noticed you guys post a lot of awesome stuff and sometimes it doesn’t get the attention it deserves. To help fix that, we’re going to begin selecting posts daily, and give them some added visibility. If your post is thoughtful, well-formatted, and unique, we might sticky it to the top of its respective board as a Post of the Day for all to see! Post away … we’ll be reading!

Recently the Riot design team posted a dev blog about Riot's design values. Tahalden, inspired, started his own series of posts interpreting these design values through thought-provoking exploration and insightful discussion. It's a great start to a discussion of the mastery of League of Legends!

I'm giving it 2 days until someone posts a Baconhawk concept in an attempt to please the real thing. I can see it now, a delicious passive, a graceful high damage Q, a W that let's you pop in wherever you want, an E that challenges everyone around them to a re-match later, but my small mind cannot imagine a suitable ult yet.

Well if you want to see my experience so far I've got my collection here. (I'm on my phone so if the link doesn't work its also at the end of all of my [Debate] posts)

So far it's been going alright, but the option for an OP to lock the comment ordering to recent or another way to evenly weight the responses would be nice. Possibly also am increase to the nesting limit. I know Mackledoge and I absolutely dominated a 3rd party mods discussion with upwards of 20 replies one time. We "lapped" the limit I think 3 times lol. But overall it's been able to work imho, at least so far.

Edit: argenflargen, using a mobile on here is difficult

Nope, there's no space at all. I'm pretty sure it's just because I'm on my phone. I've been messing around with it all day and it just won't hyperlink. My current location is internet void, so eventually i'll be able to fix it....lol

Figured it out. You need to add an "http://" to the front of the link, so it looks like:

[here]_(http://community.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/miscellaneous/RepiRzVn-so-i-heard-you-want-to-debate)

Obviously without the underscore. Note that the h needs to be lowercase.

I've actually really enjoyed your Debate posts, even though I really havent contributed much in terms of discussion. Those posts discuss very interesting topics in a well formatted manner.

I know this post has nothing to do with what I'm talking about but please help me. I want to buy RP so I went into the Purchase RP tab but it doesn't work. It puts everything into "word" form and it won't let me do anything. Please help me!! The attachment is the screenshot I took to show you guys how it looks like.

I don't fee like a "Thread of the Day" feature works very well when the community is so small.

Well this thread of the day can include any post from any sub-comm, probably (speculation) a lot easier on Rioter's end to pin/rename/choose, and is highly experimental so has a better place in a an unfinished Beta.

That and it's more than likely an individual effort by Riot Baconhawk, who more than likely simply likes CB better than vBulletin. If you find a Rioter who likes vBulletin better (they do exist) who wants to put in the same effort I'm sure it can happen.

Edit: Well that was weird. Sorry for the spam, might've been my end, but CB spazzed out on me.

CB still has its fair share of problems...but while I'm sure Baconhawk has nothing but good intentions, doing a Post of the Day exclusively on the CB just reeks of exclusivity and favoritism, and will only serve to alienate GD users even more.

I would recommend expanding this feature to include General Discussion as well, and include links to respective parts of the forum where the post of the day is actually located.

And if Baconhawk gets run out of GD for suggesting this, then it should be yet another message to Riot about the community's attitude towards this place.

I think we can both agree that a single person going through both most of CB and most of GD and posting a PotD for both is a lot to ask for. I completely agree GD having a similar contribution from Riot's end would be a good thing, but asking Baconhawk to tackle both is a bad strategy.

Again, expanding it into GD I have no problems with and in fact encourage, but I have a slight problem with claims of "exclusivity and favoritism" and "run out of GD" for a simple act of enthusiasm that, at least for all I know, may not be feasible on the vBulletin format.

Edit: Also, in case you didn't notice the edit in the previous post, I do apologize for the spam earlier, my internet spazzed out and the multiple submissions were not intended.

Don't you remember when GD ran IronStylus out of the forums when he suggested that we try posting in the CB? And don't you remember the gigantic shitstorm that kicked up?

Even mentioning the CB in a positive light is a quick way to get a mass of downvotes from General Discussion. So, I don't doubt that even something as simple as this would be met with a mess of downvotes, no matter how much enthusiasm is behind it, or how well-intentioned it is. Just ask the Parrot, since he doesn't even post in GD anymore.

People in GD hate the Beta. I hate the beta. I'm just of the opinion that Baconhawk didn't quite think this whole thing through.

Yeah I remember that, and if I recall correctly IS did get a bit rushed and spoke a bit more personally than he usually does but other than that the drama and general shitstorm was kicked up by the vehement hate towards the CB. Isn't that more the problem? There's showing your disapproval for a decision and then there's attacking the people who are also entitled to their opinions and like CB, like Ironstylus.

Of course Baconhawk didn't "think this whole thing through", she and most Rioters aren't politicians. They're not going to check every word and triple check every action made in their free time. Rioters are part of this community as well and are prone to spontaneous bouts of enthusiasm, as we all are. Taking that spontaneity and honest enthusiasm in way of fear of harassment from a section of the community that literally is not affected by the action in any form is something I'm very much against.

Hey Baconhawk! I promise I will not normally do this, but I wanted to get a nomination of sorts out sooner rather than later for a PotD that could prove incredibly interesting but may suffer from the time of day it was posted.

Brief tl;dr: Player representation ala EVE Online, could really be improved with some exposure.

Again, this is probably the only time I'll ever do this as I know there are plenty of other awesome posts to choose from, but just really wanted to help this guy out.
