There is already enough stuff to report for, and too many false permabans that this non-human interaction "machine" doles out. We don't need to be able to report for anything else, sorry.

Feel like I should add that people are reporting more and more these days for ANYTHING. I have a previous post where I asked someone to farm so we could win later and he raged. You can't even speak in the game anymore without fear of being reported.

The change I am suggesting is not to add functionality, but clarity. You already will be using this report option for those.

Besides, if you aren't actually doing anything wrong then the reports won't do anything. There's no reason to be afraid unless you're toxic.

The system has a false positive rate of ~1:6000. In the rare case that you are punished due to a mistake, you can submit a ticket and have Riot remove it. The people that complain all day about how it is punishing innocent players are very near 100% toxic players that think it's ok to be so, sometimes simply not understanding why their actions are not acceptable.

I agree that the system works, I just feel like the low level fear of being falsely punished that exists within any system is increased when it's a mostly automated one. If people were as confident with the system as the figures would support I feel like there would be fewer cases of toxic players claiming they were falsely punished. Overall the statistical holes in Riot's system may create fewer errors than a human judgement system would, but I have trouble believing that it inspires as much confidence.

You can blame the toxic players for spreading that fear. People wouldn't fear an automated ban system if there wasn't people constantly spreading that fear regarding said system. In a crowd of 100 000 people you can still hear the couple dozen screaming their lungs out when the rest is mostly silent, making you believe it's louder than it really is. Deep Terror Nami is 100% correct when saying that those who complain are most likely toxic players who delude themselves that they aren't. Because it's always easier to put the blame anything but yourself. In this case, it's Riot, their ban system, other players fault for them getting banned when in truth, it is entirely their fault. The very rare edge case of an erroneous ban can be dealt with by Riot support team.

I for one do not fear the automated ban system. I keep a positive attitude in my games and I have never received any ban or even even warning.

Players who aren't flamebaiters and trolls that fear it are players who don't understand how the systems fundamentally work.

No one can fully understand any complex software. Too many people had their hands on its development or maintenance for one person to know all about it.

Fear is probably too strong a word for this and I should have used the word "discomfort" instead or maybe "confusion". Most people don't know how the ban system work and instead of trying to understand it enough that they can feel safe about it, they listen to the loudest people and jump on the bandwagon. This is just a modern day witch hunt. The ban system is a witch, according to the toxic players, and everyone want to burn it because the toxics players are trying to get rid of it since it's bothering them.

For me concern about an automated system, is less about its accuracy and more about the ability to react to the rare occasions it does have errors, and as well the slippery slope of complacency that comes with so accurate a system.

I don't think Riot currently has either of these problems. But its always a good idea to be watchful for these things, so I try not to fault anyone for having concerns.

One group that I specifically remember going against had the tag "ISIS" and their full club name spelled out "Islamic State..." Two of the three using the name were the worst form of toxic, which honestly didn't surprise me too much.

"5v5ez" is actually kind of funny. If you say 'gg ez' after the game, that's a different story, but I wouldn't say the club name is bad or needs to be changed.

everytime someone speaks about how easy it is to get reported, I like to step in and say that as far as I'm aware I've never been reported ever. I assume I have been reported at least once tho, since people do rage... so I'm pretty sure that if you're getting a lot of reports, enough to become aware of them happening, that probably says more about you than it does about the system.

I'm afraid KKK may not be reportable. It's one of those things that can mean anything even when we know what it means. With name tag "nazi" you can hardly defend yourself, but KKK "can mean anything". As I said, we all know what they possibly meant and If they don't mean it, it's rather childish, If they mean it, it's illegal, and shouldn't be presented, but from "just" point of view, it's just three letters that can even mean K-loving Kreative Korner If we went to extreme. Summa sumarum: If they'd be prevented from using the tag, I'd be glad, If they weren't, I'd understand the reasoning.

The thing is though, the player might not be directly responsible for his or her club name tag. Should people that associate with a leader who made an inappropriate club tag be punished for the club leader's actions?

Like, I don't really like my tag too much (it's not offensive or anything, but it's immature), but I'm not going to insult my friends by leaving the club, and the club is also a cool feature (I like being able to quickly see who in that group of friends is online).

Members aren't going to be punished for a Club tag, Riot would change the tag/name. The report would be to notify Riot, not to get a member in trouble.

Also, you can already report for this with the Offensive/Inappropriate Summoner name option. As I mentioned to Leblancster, this isn't adding functionality to the report, it's adding clarity.

Not that I would be offended by it or something, but it falls under category of "inappropriate". It's strange tho to make such report button in game where many woman heroes could be mistaken for strippers. :D

I'm sure you can simply use that section, write your problem with the club name on the message, then send report. Those checkpoints are mere guidelines to help organize everything for easier view.
