Listening to the Team

Why do some people refuse to do so? Is it because a player wants to be the most knowledgeable, so they assume everyone else is wrong? Is it because if they aren't carrying they get salty towards the players that are and don't listen out of spite? Or is it straight up ignorance? I don't really understand it.
