I Got a 14 Day Suspension...

...and thank you Riot. Looking back, I definitely deserved it as I was kind of a d*ck to anyone who irritated me. I feel like most (not every) people who receive suspensions end up reforming and I plan on doing so. (mostly because I don't want to lose mah skins) I'll probably end up winning more and climbing as a result of this ban. However, I have a few opinions on how Riot punishes players. Although my ban ends later today, I think the system should at least give some warning before you're banned, as my account went from 100% clean to dishonorable in a matter of minutes.

PS. If I get another suspension, is my account banned forever, or does it eventually become clean again? thx

First off, good on you for having the proper response to the punishment. Taking a look at your own behavior and realizing that there is room for improvement. <3

If you get another suspension before your punishment has deescalated a tier (roughly 3-4 months of real-world time given an average number of games/week is, I believe, the current estimate -- Riot doesn't give us the specifics) than your account is indeed lost. A punishment at that point would likely result in a 14-day ban, but further good behavior would reduce it more.

You normally DO get a warning for toxicity as well, save in certain situations that lead to an immediate 14-day ban. These are EXTREME cases of toxicity, or usage of hate speech (all derogatory language, basically, be it racist, sexist, homophobic, etc), or encouraging another player to self harm ("kys" or "kill yourself" being the two most common examples).

If you don't have any of that behavior in your logs, and you didn't receive any previous punishment, I'd be interested in seeing your chat logs -- it's possible there's something in there you're overlooking that might be considered more toxic than usual by the system.

Lmao, I've had 2 accounts permabanned and I haven't reformed because there's no point in it. Why would you even bother reforming, when the reason you got banned in the first place aka, trolls/leavers/int feeders/afkers/premade friends ganging up on you, are still playing while ur suffering because you called them out on it, You are the one being punished for their unsportsmanlike behavior. They're actively ruining games on an hourly basis, day after day, thousands of games are being destroyed each hour from these people, but yet you think you are the one who has to reform because you called one of them out on it? Nah. Don't buy into it, it's not your fault, play how you want to play, act how you want to act, don't let anyone tell you how to act in an ONLINE(Remember that sticker that says ESRB doesn't rate online interactions?) game against the people who ARE the ones ruining it. There is a reason that sticker said that, but now that online interactions are rated by these companies, guess what became prevalent, trolls, afkers, feeders, uncooperative team mates, because they know it will get people banned, they know they can get away with it, it's trash.

After reading Riot zero tolerance policy, I think it is a joke. So you expect people to take crap from other people and not say anything back and just report to them like a little bitch after the game?! Good thing there is more to life than just League because this policy don't cut it in the real world.

glad to see you are taking responsibilities for your actions and not playing the victim and blaming others. im glad that you see this as a chance to improve yourself and to strive to be better.

word of caution ... you are on a razor thin edge to permaban from here and it would seem that its a lot easier to get that punishment since you already been flagged and punished.

my best advice to you is use chat as little as possible and only use generic game talk. jungle top, lets baron etc anything that could be taken out of context might result in a report which could then lead to... ya you get it.

best of luck

You are not stupid. You were aware that what you were doing was innappropriate. You do not require a warning.

Furthermore, the function that you want this warning to serve (i.e. to let you know you're crossing the line) is being fulfilled by the summoners' code which you've agreed to. That IS your warning.

14-day is your last chance. Eventually though, if you keep showing reformed behaviour your account does become 'clean'.

Usually it's a 10-game chat restrict, then a 25-game chat restric, then a 14-day ban and then permanent ban.

You can skip punishments if you are extremely toxic. After some time (about 3 months) your account drops a 'punishment tier'. (For example: You got a 14-day ban 3 months ago, but since you showed reformed behaviour the next ban isn't a permaban, just another 14 day. Eventually your account drops to completely clean so that the next punishment is simply a 10-game chat restrict.)

If it was a ban for toxicity then yes, normally you would get a 10 game and a 25 game chat restriction first. Extreme cases of toxicity (Hate speech, telling people to "kys", etc) will jump you up to a 14 day ban. Also, trolling/feeding earns you a 14 day ban as a first offense as well. So it's not exactly odd to see it happen.

Yes, if you get another punishment it is a permaban. But, if you can go a good length of time with at least neutral chat you can go down a step in the punishment tiers. The average time for that is ~3 months of playing without another slip up.

And it goes by time spent playing, not just time FYI. Good luck on your reforming!

I wish i would've gotten a warning before going from a clean account, to a super toxic account... Yeah, I know what i said was bad, but jeebus crust this is harsh.
