You Are Why the Community Is Garbage

I was just permanently banned.

The game game that had me banned gave me an "instant feedback report" that someone I'd reported had a "penalty issued."

Some griefer who was penalized that exact game reported me to harass me, and that harassment report got me banned.

The chat text which was displayed to me as the reason was 90% gameplay discussion (to which literally nobody disagreed) and 10% typical insults in response to insults which contained 0% gameplay discussion.

Over the years I've played my occasional ban or chat mute was the same. Some raging griefers reported. I got unlucky and I got enough raging griefers in a short period of time and got banned. Griefing is extremely common and these forums have had a majority openly state that griefing is acceptable, while saying anything about it is not. I should have taken the hint. Anybody remember the Video Game Dunkey diamond promo video? The griefer in plat 1/diamond promos was not punished, the guy who said "yo dude, fuck you" in response to it was.

While I made plenty of snide remarks in response (because why instigate it? even if they're terrible, talking about it only makes it worse, not better) to raging, I always focused on gameplay discussion. Usually my gameplay discussion was met with silence. I made crap tons of friends and denied more requests than I accepted.

Sound familiar? If not, you might be the problem.

The report system is a tool for harassment. Raging griefers use it (and openly state) regularly to harass teammates. Tank jungle has 5x your champion damage and suggests you should engage sooner with the team? Maybe you should engage 4v2, not run? "REPORTED" "TOXIC."

Or, more often, someone RAGES at you when they mess up (or maybe you mess up, who cares. You can openly state it and apologize, they'll still harass you). You respond with what you think went wrong? Rage, followed with the usual harassment reporting and calls for others to report.

I was annoyed Riot took my hundreds of dollars over the years and banned my account over the harassment a bunch of low-IQ assholes who griefed. (They griefed in ranked games, the IQ correlation is obvious, as they hurt their own interests.)

I play a lot of team-oriented PvP games. I regularly place diamond and above. (Yeah, I have other accounts, though I won't use my League ones much any more on general principle--I have enough skins, thanks) And most games don't have a report system so obviously abused for harassment. So I'll play those.

I just thought I'd offer as a parting gift the obvious: Your report system is used for harassment. Your product is no longer the go-to in the market, so your harassment system is only helping to speed up the revenue decline. I'm sure you'll be fine for many years to come with billions more. You're welcome, my bad.

What am I saying, Trump won and Clinton was second by 40 miles. Riot is making bank and their average consumer USES this form of harassment far more than they are punished by it (they never discuss gameplay anyway.)

You are why we can't have nice things. Good riddance.

You keep saying "My whole point was that the report system is a tool for harassment." Unfortunately, anecdotes are not evidence. You know what is evidence? Your chat logs, whole and entire.

What am I saying, Trump won and Clinton was second by 40 miles.

Non sequitur. If you're going to ask people to debate rationally and fairly, you should demonstrate those qualities in yourself.

It's as if people don't actually know what they are talking about and because their favorite streamer/content creator got punished means that nothing has every done with the other people involved.

I don't get why people keep bringing up Dunkey. A rioter even said that the game get shown in that video wasn't the game he was punished for, yet people like you always bring it up. Why? It's not helping your cause!

With that said you are responsible for your actions and your alone. You decided to rage at the troll/feeder. No one forced you to, you did it on your own free will. And guess what, you know who else deal with people like that? EVERYONE. So why are you and a select number of people chat restricted, or punished, and the rest of us never even get a warning?

You just need to know how the system works. It's been a fact that chat reports are easier to find and handle than trolls. If you can make it easier for Riot I'm sure they will work with you. But some of the most obvious (having real people look at every single reported incident) is just unrealistic.

All in all don't feed the troll. That's like the number one rule on the internet, but too many people have a huge ego they believe they need to get the last word in, or fight with someone over a damn video game. Maybe next time ignore them! They either stop, or give them more evidence to report them and thus making the system easier to detect these people. It doesn't help that going off on them solves nothing and further ruins the game for the other people involved because now not only do thet have to deal with a troll, but s toxic person as well!

Thanks for all your downvotes without any thought, consideration, argument, or comment.

You are, indeed, the community.

The next time someone shoves the fuck out of his lane and shit talks his jungler, report the jungler.

If the jungler explain that he wants to help but can't turret dive to 100 to 0 his opponent at level 4, report the jungler.

If you run from 4v2 and the enemy team takes objectives without a fight, report whoever suggests maybe you should engage and team fight when you have the numerical advantage. Fuck them for suggesting you're not perfect. You are fucking perfect and they should be banned for suggesting you should attack when it's 4v2. Asshole.

If you go 0/7 as some cheese champ that doesn't fit meta for your lane/role/comp, keep going glass. Shit talk your teammates. It's their fault you fed and gave up 7 kills in 4 minutes. Then, of course, report them.

If you're doing raptors or wolves at 42 minutes while the enemy team is doing baron/dragon/pushing a turret, report anyone who asks you to join them rather than do raptors. They're toxic and those raptors mattered more than enemy kills, preventing allied deaths, inhibitors, and winning. Fuck them. Report them.

Seriously. It's a fun game. When you ban talking about it, you just make it worse for everyone.

For example, you could BAN talking about how single mothers' kids are 35 TIMES more likely to be abused than married mothers' kids. You could ban pointing out that married mothers' kids statistically earn more, abuse drugs less, have higher IQs, etc.

But that wouldn't help those poor kids. And all of this raging isn't helping the game. Ultimately, the majority get what they deserve. And you're arguing REALLY hard that you don't deserve much of shit. And that's what you're getting.

So all this, without the inclusion of the Chat Logs, boils down to "the report system is a tool for harrasment" ? ... Fascinating, I could say.

I am curious about that "10% typical insults", and I will not try to even discuss the kindergarten logic of "he started it".

50% of your down-votes are because of the title, most people scan titles and down-vote instantly, 30% are from the fact that you keep saying 'thank-you for all the down-votes' as this seems to trigger you people will down-vote. 20% are from people disagreeing with you.

Wrathful Chicken10/21/2017, 2:17:44 PM1 votes

It seems griefers are still successfully dragging people down to their hell.

I'm loving the downvotes without comment or argument. You're fine examples of my point. Angry virtue signaling without any virtue (many of you giref regularly) or rational argumentation.

Sometimes I can't stand my teammates. Sometimes they hide and wait only to KS. Sometimes they even hide so much they literally wait for others to die (without having engaged themselves) in order to make sure they get kills. Often, the teammates they try to dick over win fights and the griefers get even more angry when their dick moves to let teammates die and steal their kills backfire.

Sometimes they do all kinds of things wrong. Whatever. I let it go. I queue for pvp because I want to win. I back up griefing teammates the same as I would teammates I admire. I queue for pvp to win. A massive number of players don't, and they use the report system to harass anyone who shows them better.
